Hi all slightly concerned flying from BHX tomorrow mid afternoon and the forecast is heavy rain for long periods. Any one there that can reassure with regards to flight operations in such weather. Cheers worried that the flight will be cancelled if the rains too heavy

Firstly @casey1779 welcome to F4A. I honestly don't think that anybody can give you a categorical answer, however these are my thoughts.

If will sepend upon whether the inbound flight is affected by weather. It is more likely to be arrivals that are delayed weather. Should your inbound aircraft have to divert, then there may well be a lengthy delay to departures.

Assuming that your aircraft has arrived then I would think that, if the weather's bad, there may be a delay to our departure, however should be limited

I hope this helps and I'm sure that there are others on the Birmingham forum, who will be able to assist.

Rain on its own would rearly impact flights unless it were extreme and torrential when a captain might decide to hold off a landing or departure.

There is a strong wind forecast for tomorrow evening and through the night into Monday which might have more on an impact on later flights but that isn't expected to impact BHX until after 10pm.

So on balance I wouldn't get overly worried about your flight tomorrow, I'm sure everything will be fine.

Don’t worry about your flight tomorrow. As a former crew member, I’ve flown through storms and weather just like what’s in the forecast. Airline operations teams are already planning for it, with extra crew on standby and special systems in place to ensure minimal delays and on-time departures. If the weather is too bad for landing at BHX, the aircraft will land at another airport until the weather clears.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
