In this review, I fly Norwegian’s Boeing 737 MAX 8 from Madrid to Oslo to see whether one of Europe’s best-known low-cost airlines can still deliver a great passenger experience in 2026. For £147, this journey included seat selection, cabin baggage, a hot meal, snacks, drinks and a flight across Europe. But with so many airlines stripping away extras in the name of being “low cost”, does Norwegian still offer genuine value for money? Join me as I take a detailed look at the airport experience, boarding process, cabin, legroom, onboard service, food offering and overall passenger experience on this three-hour flight to Norway.

📍 Route: Madrid Barajas (MAD) to Oslo Gardermoen (OSL)
✈️ Aircraft: Boeing 737 MAX 8 (LN-FGJ)
💺 Cabin: Economy
Flight Time: 3 hours, 24 minutes
💵 Cost: £147.76 (including all add-ons)

Cracking video review, thanks for sharing! Loved the AvGeek spotter tip at Madrid always appreciated! For £147 all in with luggage, seat choice, and food on a 3+ hour run, it looks like proper value for money in 2026. Fair play to the crew for delaying the meal service during that bout of moderate turbulence. Your meatballs on your lap comment made me chuckle! Great footage of the MAX 8 cabin throughout. Thanks again!

Great airline with a real feel of quality. Regrettably, their pricing on the LGW-ARN route can be outrageous so I tend to use BA from LHR, even though I live in the Brighton area.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
