Faro has been taken off sale from jan to the end of March 2020 before the resumption. I’m assuming it’s because of the closure of the faro base however two of the three flights per week were operated by a Bristol based aircraft which is a bit strange

Maybe they're reducing the base? Any other reductions?

Perhaps it's over-capacity on the FAO route. easyJet operates daily though much of the winter - even 4 x weekly in the graveyard month of January.

If that is the case it's interesting that Ryanair is the one to give ground, although the airline reduced FAO in summer from up to 12 x weekly to daily a few years ago with easyJet at 16/17 a week.

The UK aviation industry might be entering a cooling-off stage after several years of significant growth following the recession of the earlier part of this century. Such things as Brexit uncertainty, airline uncertainty in some cases, talk of a recession don't augur well for airline confidence.

Ryanair is reducing its presence at other UK airports in the near future.

Shannon officially dropped for next summer
Not surprised - the loads were dire most months so far this summer. July so far the best at a very disappointing 75% load factor. Still awaiting August.

It lasted one more season than FR's LPL-SNN that began at the same time as the BRS route but which was even worse than BRS re passenger numbers in summer 2018 - perhaps a surprise given Merseyside's historical links with Ireland.

all now bookable with the exception of girona , Bergerac and Shannon ( discontinued)

Milan Malpensa still not bookable after the end of March on my screen.

Bergerac only operated in July and August this year and I think was a late entrant into the booking engine then.

Is there a problem with Ryanair and Girona? For example, the MAN-GRO service is not bookable for next summer either.

Oh yeah! I was trying to book Malpensa but as it was greyed out, assumed they weren’t in sale yet. Should have checked the other routes before asking.

The easyJet Malpensa route is on sale for next summer - 4 x weekly.

It is, and is surprisingly inexpensive for the dates I am looking for (£333 for 4 people). When I went to Bergamo in August last year, Ryanair charged me £250pp for the privilege!!

Early days but I make five early departures on Sunday’s - Wroclaw, Bologna , palma , Malaga ( recent time change) and chania .

Ten years or so ago Ryanair would publish several versions of the following season's timetable over a number of months before settling on one that actually operated.

I remember that one year the first draft of the published timetable required seven based aircraft at BRS on some days. Gradually though routes were either removed or timings altered, and in one or two cases days of operation moved, to arrive at a timetable that could be operated by the base complement at that time (I think it was five aircraft that year). I kept all the various timetable versions for that year (I can't now remember which year it was) for a long time but can no longer find the file. I must have inadvertently deleted it at some point.

In recent years Ryanair's first published timetable draft for a season has been more or less what actually operated, albeit one or two additional routes might be added later and extra rotations slipped in on some routes.

If it turns out that five based aircraft really are needed next summer it could mean more flights, and possibly more destinations, or fewer flights operated into BRS from other bases. One to keep an eye on to see if there is significant tinkering with the programme in the next few weeks/months.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
