India did a different form of Health measures. They have not started I nternational flights but have repatriated stranded Indians in about 50 flights in last month. Every passenger who landed was, taken to a hotel nearby and left there for 14 days with police guards, at the door. Pax who booked tickets for the repat flights had to pay for the hotels along with the ticket fares, 3 classes of hotels were given as choices. This is how you isolate people in a pandemic. Not half measures. And I can download Indias contact tracing app here in UK but can't find our own NHS app to download
It's broadly what New Zealand did right at the beginning. They have had no known new virus cases for the past 17 days so from tomorrow they are back to normal living with no restrictions apart from not allowing any incomers to the country at the moment. People will still keep a contact app as the NZ government realises that the virus can't be guaranteed to have been eliminated entirely in the country.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before but the Lauda Vienna service is only bookable this winter until early January. Ryanair was to close the Lauda Vienna base last month with Ryanair aircraft stepping in on at least some routes. I don't know if they did close it. easyJet's Vienna route is currently bookable right through the winter. Both are still bookable at the moment for later this summer.

The lauda Vienna service has been like that for a while since before the corona crisis. Both Birmingham and stansted also only on sale till January at the moment

I believe they did close the Vienna base and flew the A320's to Stansted where they are now stored.

Alicante and Malaga due to resume on Tuesday.

There is some serious changes to the winter timetable - hopefully work in progress - Tenerife and Malta down to one per week

According to the booking engine Tenerife is resuming on 7 July at 2 x weekly then 3 x weekly August-October and 3 x weekly from next April.

Malta is resuming on 16 July at 2 x weekly then 3 x weekly August-October and 4 x weekly from next April.

On that basis it does seem a bit strange that both have been reduced to a weekly service through the winter given that the virus situation might be under tighter control in the winter than in the August-October period. With Ryanair it's always likely that additional rotations will be added in the autum if bookings justify.

Addendum (1445 20.6.20)

I forgot to add that easyJet are operating Tenerife 5 x weekly this winter - think it's usually 3 x weekly in winter - so that might have an effect on Ryanair's decision on that route.

Arrive at BRS from AGP at 0905 on Tuesday 23 June and depart for AGP at 0930

Arrive at BRS from ALC at 1705 on Tuesday 23 June and depart for ALC at 1730

With ALC and AGP starting on tuesday is a start. It wonders how the FR offering from BRS will look.

At the moment all the BRS summer destinations, bar one, are showing booking availablity from either early July (most) or later in the month. The only one not showing any availability for the rest of the summer is the new route to Brest.

Some frequencies are reduced in July but it obviously depends on government advice and co-operation from other governments.

Justice sort of done with this man who was given four months' imprisonment by Bristol Crown Court following an incident on a Ryanair flight from Spain to Dublin that diverted to BRS because of the man's behaviour.

However, he has failed to co-operate with his own legal team, failed to appear at Bristol Crown Court so was sentenced in his absence, and apparently lives in the Republic of Ireland. Ryanair were also awarded nearly £6,000 in compensation. Good luck to them in getting that.

During the first full week in August (3rd-9th) Ryanair operated 98 of the airport's overall 320 departures for the week.

Ryanair operated 33 of the 34 routes originally put into the network for peak summer. The one missing was Brest which was a new route for BRS and the 33 includes includes the new Lauda route to Vienna. Frequencies were reduced on a number of routes but even so the 98 weekly departures represents 70% of the 140 weekly departures originally in the timetable for August.

Although easyJet operated more departures during the week under review - they have a much larger presence with at least double the number of routes that Ryanair operates - they actually operated just under 49% of the 396 departures they originally timetabled for August (thanks to Severn's post in February for the 396).

Many of us think of easyJet being more committed to BRS than Ryanair but the Irish airline has cetainly responded nobly to the virus with its BRS operation, and in July was operating considerably more flights than easyJet for part of that month.

Venice reverts to Treviso from December till end of March this winter. No flights in November

Perhaps they've given up on competing with easyJet to Marco Polo. In 2016 when easyJet returned to the MP route after several years absence Ryanair prompty switched their BRS flight from Treviso to MP. The only UK routes that Ryanair operate from MP are Bristol and Stansted. All the other UK routes use Treviso. Perhaps it's cheaper.

easyJet are being cautious with their BRS-MP route with a handful of flights this month, then nothing until the last week in October. A daily service is not scheduled until mid-February 2021.

Faro

An extra weekly return flight between 15 September and 25 October making 6 x weekly. Originally it was meant to be daily as in previous summers but the pandemic reduced it to 5 x weekly.

Some changes to the winter schedule - reductions on some routes but Gdańsk and Wroclaw both go three weekly. Poland is on the green list so it’s an opportunity to explore a lovely country

It’s more or less the middle of October now and there is an awful lot of destinations still to be released for next summer - girona , Gdańsk , knock and Limoges are just a few - anyone know if they will be released or is there a cull on the way - I’ve checked other airports and most seem to be on sale

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
