Negative again…its a fact. It's got to a point where nothing but positive things can be said here…its a forum and people have their point of view! We don't all have to agree with everything you say.
Likewise BCFC. Its a forum and I have a point of view too. I don't agree with your negativity. So are you saying you can disagree with me but I can't say I disagree with you?

Perhaps you should compare the growth at other regional airports since 2017 to see how LBA compares.

@BCFC It is the highest monthly figure for the airport in its history. That is an achievement and one we should be celebrating, not down playing. All airports UK and internationally took a massive dip during, and post covid and many have not recovered, so to be exceeding pre covid figures is a major milestone. Glasses should be full, not half empty at that.

I have checked the pax figures for Jan - Aug 2017 with pax figures Jan - Aug 2025 and there is an 8.5% increase this year and 2017 was the first time LBA exceeded 4m pax.

If you read the CAA statistics thread on the Edinburgh forum, @tartan201 does an analysis including each airport's improvement since 2019. If members check this, they will find that LBA is outperforming MAN/LHR/LGW/STN in this particular case.

As usual here is my take on the September CAA figures - with the usual reference to the difference in domestic numbers between Tables 12.2 & 12.3

Yes ta @Scottie Dog. One interesting thing is the increase in JER of nearly 20%. Ideal time for another operator on the route. And just as we get it look what happened!
There were some wondering about the Aurigny loads when the flights were not on sale for next summer. (They are now).
Anyway, based on the monthly total for September (731) the average per flight across September was 46.

Any increase is yet more positivity though, however small that increase is. Be interesting to see what impact AENA have and how quickly. They may already have routes and airlines up their sleeve. And that wasn't just an off the cuff remark either.
Worth bearing in mind that AENA have a strong working relationship with all the main airlines here at LBA, notably Wizz and Easyjet!

My monthly report will follow later this evening - it's been a busy day! ;)

With the CAA data now being available, here is my take on October's statistics. Please remember that, for an unknown reason, there is always a difference between the total passenger figure in Table 9 and the separate figures from Tables 12.1, 12.2 and 12.3.

Pax figures for October - 410 433 - on CAA website, just over 1% increase. Hopefully with all the winter increases, the percentage will be bigger.
There were quite a number of significant disruptions back in October - Storm Amy, a lot of fog mid month, fire alarms going off and the hole in the runway incident!
All will have had some impact particularly on the Canary Islands numbers I suspect….

Anti-tourist campaigns by the local islanders will put some people off the canaries, so that may have also played a part in the slight dip. I have to say I chose elsewhere this month as there are other places where I feel more welcomed as a tourist.
I’ve spoken to a few people who say they aren't necessarily 'put off' by Spain and the Canaries but they are avoiding it because they just don't feel welcome there anymore.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
