Upto date list since i can't edit it

According to the CAA website the figures for January should be published today. They weren't there 20 mins since, anybody heard anything?

That's the target date.

They are late some months, usually only by a day though the weekend means they probably won't be published now until Monday.

CAA domestic figs for LHR route from LBA indicate a pax number of 7763. Presuming the data collected is from the start date of the BA flights until the end of Jan 2013 then the pax numbers are not all that bad to be honest. In very basic terms, this equates to approx 3880 pax/month. Assuming that number to be an average, we re looking at a total of 46500 pax/year. More than Aberdeen and just below Belfast. These figures are naturally based on 2 months of data and it is difficult to generalise for the remainder of the year, but given that the route started in two quiet months, suddenly, the route looks promising!

The figure of 7763 is for the month of January only. NOT from the start of the service in December when there was approx 5500 for that month. So they are considerably better than you are estimating. If you took January figure and multiply it by 12 then it would be 93156. however, I would expect further increases each month as the numbers increase, and would imagine well over 100,000 on this route for the year.

Thats good news Eastcoaster - thanks for the correction. Not use to interpreting CAA stats so once again thanks for clarifying. S

Yes, the figures can take some following. As a general rule individual destinations just list a monthly figure pax only. List by whether it is a schedule or a charter and a percentage increase/decrease on same month the year before. The headline page (which LBA has been missed off again - will be added by Friday hopefully) has the all destinations total for month with a percentage inc/dec on same month last year, THEN a running rolling total for year, with a percentage inc/dec. If that makes sense!

I wish the LBA figures were as good as ABZ!! Aberdeen will carry 500000+ a year 5X the size of the LBA-LHR market.

Still no figures published by the CAA for LBA. Aren't the figures usually down when this happens?

Figure just been added to CAA Stats.
JAN 2013 123655 Pax. UP +1% Rolling year 2969880 Pax. UP +1.7%

At least we have positive increase, monthly and YOY.

Almost certainly due to BA and Monarch mainly. Any increase in winter has to be good, especially after the weather issues that month. The summer is looking extremely promising and it is noticeable how much busier the airport is already and it is only just starting to get its seasonal flights back.

I half expected to see another dip because it's seemed quieter this winter but there you have it, excellent news.

We can all be very happy with the figures for january. Although only a small rise I like aviador seriously thought we would see a negative figure. It seemed the airport was very quiet in January compared to 2012. I think we can now safely say we'll see an increase in passenger figures for every month of 2013.

February will be interesting as February 2012 was a leap year, so a theoretical reduction of around 3% built in to the comparison figures - everywhere of course.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
