With what looks like Flybe and Aer Lingus codesharing on DUB could it be extended to Cork in the future?

don't know about cork. it did not work when it was a stand alone route with arran which we now know as Stobart.the code share with be is not clear if the pre immigration will be extended to the code share.hope the dub route works out ok,but I'm not sure about the fares. will keep an eye on them.

Just wondering if a codeshare on the Cork route between Aer Lingus and Flybe would help boos pax on the route?
The pre immigration has nothing to do with the codeshare. You can take the BE flights and still have access to the pre immigration. It's an airport service it's not just restricted to EI flights. The codeshare will mean you don't have to check your luggage in and hopefully will give pax access to earlier flights.
As EI are part of IAG will that mean they will codeshare on AA flights? I'm assuming they'll join One World? Do EI have a codeshare agreement with United?

Looks like these are the flight numbers for the Aer Lingus codeshare with Flybe.
EI 8421 06.55-07.55 CWL-DUB
EI 8422 08.25-09.30 DUB-CWL
EI 8427 19.05-20.05 CWL-DUB
EI 8428 20.35-21.40 DUB-CWL
Though no flights have been loaded for November and beyond.

The last Aer Lingus regional flight is on it's way. ATR 72-600 EI-FAS is the aircraft. From tomorrow Aer Lingus goes to a codeshare with Flybe and we'll only see them for the rugby.

Aer Lingus will be putting on flights from Cardiff to Dublin for the 6 nations game between Ireland and Wales in Dublin. All flights are down to be operated on A320's.
Friday 23rd February and Sunday 25th February
DUB-CWL 08.30-09.40 CWL-DUB 10.20-11.30
DUB-CWL 12.10-13.20 CWL-DUB 14.00-15.20

I find it interesting that they are doing this considering the game is in Ireland. When Wales football played in Dublin Aer Lingus didn't operate any flights into Cardiff but Aer Lingus Regional did put on extra flights from Bristol. Wonder why the difference with the 2 sports?

Thursday was the first time i used the Dublin route to get to the US and Aer Lingus as an airline. The CWL-DUB sector was operated by Flybe which was a good flight with them. When i arrived at DUB i had to wait 10 mins for a stand which wasn't an airbridge stand but was a contact stand so no bus required. Surprisingly i had to go through Irish immigration which was pretty quick and then head to flight connections which then required going through a security check and then i headed to the US pre-clearance area but had to wait till 09.30 until i was allowed to go through and the area i waited in . That required another security check and then queued for immigration which took a fair while especially as they didn't have the machines and it was all manned booths and it was busy. I was surprised by the amount of different nationalities that was going through to the US. Dublin is definitely a European hub. The pier was really but didn't really have much in the way of food outlets from what i could see. Generally Dublin airport was ok but i do think Amsterdam is a much better experience even without the pre-clearance AMS is much more seamless.
The flight with Aer Lingus was very good. I will do a video about it but generally the i had a very good flight with them. The seat was comfortable and the IFE was very responsive. The food was quite good as well. The catering side was a mix of legacy and low cost. There wa 2 snack servings and a main meal that was free along with water, tea, coffee and soft drinks. Extra snacks were available from the galley for a charge and alocohol was also chargeable as well. The crew were really freindly and helpful as well which was a good bonus. The only big negative is that when i got to Portland eventually my bag didn't make it with me, it arrived last night. Aer Lingus was a good experience but the delayed bag and the experience at Dublin might make me think twice about using them unless they do a direct flight to Portland but i would recommend them as an airline.

Unfortunately delayed baggage is always a risk when connecting from one aircraft to another even more so when it is the use of two separate airlines that operate in different terminals.

Saying that I know of one person that had late baggage coming back to the UK from working abroad. Couple of days later when he went back out the same thing happened and that was using the same airline throughout (KLM)

AMS has always been a bit of nightmare for mislaying baggage. In the 1990s and early 2000s my wife and I used Cityhopper regularly either for transatlantic connection at AMS or to visit the Netherlands.

On three separate occasions our bags did not accompany us on the return Cityhopper service to the UK, but each time they turned up within a day or so delivered to our home. One of the times it was the fault of a US check-in clerk who mistakingly labelled our final destination as BRU instead of BRS, so our bags no doubt enjoyed a trip to the Belgian capital's airport. He'd probably never heard of BRS.

I did have to change terminals at SFO from the international one to terminal 2.

The delivery guy who dropped off the bag said they had 2000 bags to deliver as a company. It does happen it's just the first time on the way out it's happened to me. If the connection is tight with KLM a few times.

KLM lost my luggage in AMS on the way home from DETROIT. It was put on another plane and ended up in Nashville. 6 days later had bags delivered home.
A common problem with AMS. They have history with loosing bags and reputation tarnished. I shant use AMS again for this reason.

Well my bag from my return flight that got lost has now been found, strangely in Amsterdam. It's flying in tonight and will be delivered to my house in the morning. How it ended up in Amsterdam when i was flying via Dublin is a mystery. I think for my next trip i'll try and go back to using AMS and KLM!

The bag was not even put on the same aircraft as you out in the states then. That sucks, least its been found and not long till you get it back, lets hope all intact with nothing missing.

If Jerry was on Aer Lingus it must of ended up on a Delta or KLM flight. Not even in the same alliance so how does that happen!

Unless it was transfered to a Aer Lingus flight to Amsterdam from Dublin as opposed flybe to Cardiff?

The only thing i can think of is that there wasn't enough time during my layover to get the bag from Terminal 6 where Alaska operates into to Terminal 2 where Aer Lingus depart from.
Also as Terminal 2 is run by Delta along with the handling it actually makes sense that they send my bag through their network and Amsterdam is the best way to get the bag to CWL for them.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
