CWL had 178,681 passengers in September, up 7% on last year, and up 8% on the rolling year, 1.56 million passengers so far this year. CWL's( newspage)

Cardiff Airport jets into winter with more passenger growth
Passenger figures in September reflected another month of growth, welcoming over 178,681 passengers, which represents an increase of 7% compared to the same month last year.
Over the last 12 months more than 1.56 million customers have flown to and from Cardiff, making use of the Airport as a point of departure and a key gateway to the UK.
As we move into the winter season, Cardiff Airport is reflecting on a number of exciting developments, including:

• Ryanair has announced two new routes for Summer 2019 to Malta and Barcelona, doubling its choice of routes by complementing existing services to Faro and Tenerife

• Flybe has released its entire Summer 2019 schedule, adding additional flights to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Paris Charles de Gaulle

• TUI announced the addition of an aircraft at its Cardiff base for summer 2019, which will add 100,000 extra seats and new flights to Dubrovnik (Croatia), Naples (Italy), Enfidha (Tunisia) and Hurghada (Egypt)

• Thomas Cook have extended their summer schedule to start in April 2019, as well as adding a new route to Enfidha (Tunisia)

• Announced as part of a joint venture with the Welsh Government, Cardiff Airport will take over the operation, management and maintenance of the St Athan airfield and business park in 2019

• The completion of a £4 million investment into the improvement of the customer experience within the terminal and the commencement of further works to enhance the security search process, by installing the latest technology tray return systems

Out of interest, how many rotations did KLM not operate because of airport restrictions? How many pax would this equate to using average LF's?

Out of interest, how many rotations did KLM not operate because of airport restrictions? How many pax would this equate to using average LF's?

The evening flight was cut for most of it so 1 rotation a day comprising of 176 less seats a day so roughly under 5000 seats less in September so potentially about 4000 passengers or more less on the route.

Some of those passengers though might have ended up going or coming back via Paris CDG so it'll be interesting to see what impact it had on AMS and CDG.
