EZY 6245 Bristol-Funchal Monday 24 October 2016

BRS arrivals website showing the return (EZY 6246) of the above outbound that is due BRS 1455 is delayed until 1755.

Flight stats shows the aircraft that was scheduled to depart BRS for FNC at 0715 today as EZY 6245 departed at 0734 but diverted to an unstated airport at 0845. Presumably the reason was something like a tech issue or a medical emergency.

The reason for my interest is that I have friends returning on EZY 6246.

It took off but over West Wales it returned to BRS. On arrival on stand it was met by the Fire Section.
It has since taken off again using the same aircraft for FNC.

Many thanks for that Red Flyer.

Peak summer released and something very strange is happening. Many of the routes that one would expect to be in peak demand at the height of summer have been reduced including Tenerife Barcelona Venice Dalaman Alicante . Let's hope it's a glitch otherwise we be seeing some declining figures

Sounds like a glitch or they haven't loaded them up yet. Maybe slot time changes or something as i can't see them not doing AMS on a Wednesday.

Met by fire section usually means a medical issue....i think

In an emergency first aid is often administered by airport Fire crews when First Responders are still on-route to the airport. At some airports this can sometimes result in a temporary downgrading of the airports fire category.

Very strange. There seems to be a Wednesday flight in June but not in August. 11 flights per week in June, 10 in August. How does that compare to this year?
On the dried grape I saw someone saying the same thing was happening at edinburgh (about a massive decrease in frequency of quite a few destinations)

I'm sure there is a lot more to be released yet.other airports in the same boat.

I would certainly think so. I noticed yesterday that Nantes is only flying in May and June next year. I wonder if these routes will be introduced when any new routes are announced. One fly in the ointment tho is that easyjet are responding on social media when people complain about less flights is that no further flights are to be released

at least we are not the only uk airport to see less routes. I see on dried plum today that a few European airports with less routes as well.
it would be nice to get a answer to this.

How come easyjet flights from Lisbon to Azores are so cheap even peak summer. I booked BRS to LIS and then LIS to ponte delgada in July end. Got 2 return flights for euro 176 in the lisbon to azores sector. Have to stay overnight in Lisbon both ways due to timings.

Does Portuguese govt subsidise that route.

Also why does easyjet not allow multi destination on one booking? If they do i havent yet found out how.

On a related booking issue. Tour operators like Riviera sell you holidays to Spain. Yet the flights are operated by Easyjet. How do they pre book seats on EZY when they dont know the names of the travellers. I didn't think EZY had deals with tour operators other than their own EAsyjet holidays.

For some reason EZY never do connections in their own network unlike Vueling and if the Portuguese government subsidised the route like it was a PSO route i would thought they would pick TAP? Oh had a look and Ryanair, TAP, Azore Airlines and Easyjet compete on the route hence why it's cheap!

With EZY reducing frequencies on some routes does anyone think they have problems with crew shortages?

More to come from easyjet in the next week or two. It would seem people have little patience when waiting for airlines to announce schedules, or start doom mongering if a complete schedule isn't announced straight away. Do you think the airport would be building 3 new stands if there were no aircraft to park on them?

Naturally we all suspected there would be more to come but when challenged on this on social media easyjet was adamant that the full schedule has been released and there be no further releases. So basically they haven't helped themselves with the doom saying on this. All they had to reply was something a little cryptic and all would be fine

Doom mongering? Hardly! People are just wondering what's going on as EZY seem to cancelling and changing frequencies and some routes seem incomplete ie no AMS wednesday flight and this is happening at other airports ie. the BFS-BHX route being stopped.
And just because the airport are building new stands doesn't mean more aircraft in the immediate future. From what i heard BRS is short of stands for overnight parking so it could be wise planning for the future to build more stands now to try and attract new airlines to base at BRS.

Profits warning at Easyjet being reported in todays newspapers.

Does this explain the reduced flight release for summer 2017 from Bristol and other airports?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
