And Lyon is not on sale either yet and yet still appears on the app and is in a launch email I received last week. Any chance there’s more to come ?

I think you said in a previous post that the email mentioning a summer Lyon came from easyJet. I have an Internet account with easyJet that streamlines the booking process but I don't get information emails from them. I do from BRS but nothing from the airport has mentioned a summer Lyon, neither did their press release of 16 October that welcomed the other new routes and the extended CDG programme.

A check with the easyJet booking engine just shows the 2 x weekly ski season Bristol-Lyon route again next winter.

Whilst on the subject of easyJet, whenever I check the seat plans for the A320 flights from BRS it always shows a 180-seat layout yet in their 16 April press release this statement was made which suggests all BRS A320s are now 186-seat aircraft: A further 186-seat Airbus A320 aircraft will now be based in Bristol and joins seven 156-seat Airbus A319 and nine 186-seat A320 aircraft currently serving the airline’s customers in the South West.

Ly here’s photo shoots of the email.
Thanks Marko.

Have you tried contacting easyJet to ask them what is going on with Lyon?

That’s my next call. the Email certainly implies a summer route though doesn’t it ?

It does. More than implies because the email is about a summer getaway.

The email says that flights to Lyon are from £30.23 one way per person with two flying. I checked next winter's Lyon route and on some dates there are cheaper flights than £30.23 which is another pointer to this not being a re-statement of the winter Lyon route.

Thanks for that, Jerry. Weather looks better at the UK end although it wouldn't have done if you'd left earlier in the day.

Madrid seems to be mainly a 319 route from BRS although next Monday and Tuesday are showing 320s. After that Tuesday alone appears to be a 320 but in peak summer it seems to be all 319 through the week. Might partly be a case of what is available taking into account other routes' timings.

There should be 10 x 320s and 7 x 319s based in peak summer.

It might also be a case of that they are happy to fill an A319 and know on other routes that they will fill an A320 at a better yield as well. The price i paid for my flight was around £50 and i was hand luggage only as i imagine many others on the flight were so it may not be the most highest yielding of flights for them.

Last winter Madrid went double-daily on Thursdays. Something of the same is in the timetable for next winter with d/daily on Thursdays in December, February and March, whereas November is 6 x weekly and January 4 x weekly.

January is always a bit of mare for a lot of routes once the New Year holidaymakers are back home. Even Rome drops to 4 x weekly in January and CDG used to with easyJet but in recent winters it has operated every day through the winter except Christmas Day, as will be the case next winter.

I remember flying back from Glasgow to Bristol with Go on a Tuesday evening in the depths of January. There were just 27 passengers on board. There were two Go GLA flights that evening and I wondered whether they'd thought about amalgamating the two.

Lyon now on sale Mondays and Fridays. Another new summer route !!
Thanks for that, Marko.

Seat plan shows a 320 on both days. Strange that Lyon was not included in the press release earlier this month that heralded the other new routes this summer.

The only thing I can think of is that it’s technically not a new easyJet route. The only way I knew it was coming was that email I posted earlier. Very good news , a route that has been a long time coming

Yet they included the increase on Paris CDG in the press release and also included Lyon in the email you received that also mentioned the other new routes. Anyway, the positive thing is that the route will operate this summer.

That’s true but then larnaca hasn’t been mentioned either . However I’m looking at the app at the mo and there appears to be more changes coming - Copenhagen goes 5 weekly in may only whilst Milan appears 3 weekly in October. Genoa also looks like it has increases in the early summer. I wonder if there be another announcement soon ?

Looking at the easyJet booking engine I can see flights to LPA in Gran Canaria commence on 29th October, operating Tue & Fri, I am dreaming or is this another new route as I wasn’t aware easy flew to LPA Gran Canaria from BRS.

EasyJet has operated this route as a winter seasonal for the past few years or so. I’m surprised it hasn’t made the summer schedule as there seems to be a lot of requests for it on social media as well as incidentally Salzburg

None of those changes are currently shown in the booking engine except Milan MXP with 3 x weekly shown for October. By coincidence I checked the easyJet booking engine this morning and at that time it was still only showing MXP flights until the end of September. Still nothing bookable for the winter despite it being described as a year-round route in the press release.

Interesting how easyJet and Ryanair have approached their BRS coverage to the Canary Islands.

They both operate to Tenerife and Lanzarote year-round.
TFS: easyJet at 4 x weekly (3 x weekly in July and August) and Ryanair 3 x weekly
ACE: easyJet 2 x weekly and Ryanair 3 x weekly

Fuerteventura is only operated by easyJet at 2 x weekly year-round

Gran Canaria is operated year-round by Ryanair at 2 x weekly in summer and 1 x weekly in winter whereas, as has been said above, easyJet only operates a winter service at 2 x weekly

Salzburg used to be operated by Thomson at up to 2 x weekly in summer and at one time there was a third weekly flight operated for a tour operator or tour operators by the Bournemouth-based European Aviation airline which is no longer in existence. My wife and I often used the route in the 1990s and early 'noughties'. It was invariably a third-party carrier for Thomson and we used the likes of Monarch B757s, Airworld A320s, an Aero Lloyd A321 and a British European (now Flybe) Bae146, with the first three airlines also no longer in existence.

TUI takes seats on easyJet from BRS for its Lakes & Mountains holidays in Switzerland. Perhaps it would do the same with Salzburg if easyJet began a summer service. I don't know whether any tour operators take seats on easyJet's ski season SZG flights. TUI operates its own weekly SZG in the ski season.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
