easyJet extends Bristol to Lyon route to operate throughout Summer 2019

easyJet, Europe’s leading airline, has extended its existing winter route from Bristol to Lyon to operate throughout July, August and September.

The flights will commence on 1 July and will operate twice a week on Monday and Friday. They will be operated on an A320 aircraft.

The extension of the route to Lyon will provide an additional 10,044 seats on 54 flights and is expected to be popular amongst those looking to enjoy the cuisine on offer in the gastronomic capital of the world, the stunning architecture on display in its old town and its perfectly manicured parks.

The airline will also position its 17th aircraft at Bristol this summer as well as launching three brand new routes from the airport this July - Milan and Brindisi in Italy and Biarritz in France.

easyJet now operates up to 770 flights a week from Bristol across 74 routes - 10% more flights compared to summer 2018.

In the coming weeks, easyJet will also celebrate flying 55m passengers since it launched operations from Bristol over 18 years ago and expects to fly over 5.2m passengers this year alone.

I think you mentioned earlier that it was a long taxi at Madrid. Almost like the Polderbaan at Schipol.

The reference to Morlaix piqued my interest too. Years ago my wife and I and another couple used to take the night Brittany Ferry from Plymouth to Roscoff on Fridays for weekend breaks and spend time in an around Morlaix. It's a great little town but we never made it to the airport which I believe is not one of the world's biggest.

Thanks for watching! It was a very long taxi. The taxi was about 12 minutes i believe. We did land 25 minutes early so not too bad. Another thing that i didn't show was that we deplaned via a boarding bridge.
When i was in school we did a few trips to Brittany but more the Rennes area, i used to love those trips! Morlaix doesn't have any scheduled flights according to Fr24 and Wikipedia but i find it always great to see airports/airfields from the air.
I'll have to admit i really enjoyed that flight with Easyjet and using Bristol and will have to look at flying with them again in the future.

I’m just worrying about something that is beyond my control, but... is there any way I can find out where the plane for the BRS to Pisa flight at 14:25 on Thursday will be flying in from, prior to departing for Pisa? Given the industrial action I’m worried my surprise 40th birthday weekend for the wife might get ruined by delays due to those pesky French ATCs

The Marseille Control Area is likely to be the worst affected with CDG controllers expected to work normally during the industrial action.

Going back further into the morning the INV departs BRS at 1035. In turn there is an EDI 320 arriving at 0955 and a GLA 320 at 1005, so the likelihood, although not certainty, is that your aircraft tomorrow will perform BRS-GLA (possibly EDI)-BRS-INV-BRS-PSA-BRS-and probably a fourth rotation in the evening.

easyJet has already anticipated the demand for this match, with numerous fans intent on just going to Madrid to soak up the atmosphere even if they have no chance of getting into the ground to watch the match. Even easyJet's Bilbao route from BRS is sold out on 30 May already, with the first return flight after the final rising to £346. After that it's back to the usual £65.

I've had a look at routes to all sorts of Spanish destinations from UK airports around i June and all are showing inflated prices - typically three to four times the normal fares although this is nowhere near the level of the Madrid route price rises.

Another incident of boorish behaviour fueled by drink on a flight involving Bristol Airport, this time on an easyJet Bristol-Belfast flight this afternoon. The police were called to the flight to eject the offfender.

It is reported that a member of a 20-strong rugby party sexually harassed a member of the cabin crew.

The Easy jet flight from NCL this morning due in at 08.05 diverted to BHX with smell of burning in cockpit. The aircraft reg G EZNM a A319. The flight no was EZY565 .Pax continued to BRS by coach. Aircraft still on ground in BHX.

A bit more on the incident involving a man reportedly the worse for drink who was removed from an easyJet BRS-BFS flight prior to departure from BRS yesterday for allegedly sexually harassing a member of the cabin staff.
