It was a A319 on way back from BOD to BRS.
Was that today? Seat selector for the coming week shows a 320 each day the route operates.

AAIB report has been published regarding an incident last February when an easyJet A320 flying from Edinburgh to Bristol diverted to Birmingham following 'a very strong burning smell' inside the aircraft cabin.

The report concludes that a damaged rotor and worn bearing in an extract (extractor?) fan were the cause of the burning smell.

The Easyjet flight from TFS was due 16.40 Tuesday has picked up a 24 hour delay due 16.40 Wednesday.... Would think it picked up a tech fault and then crew hours kicked in..The flight number is EZY6096.

Very little news coming out of BRS these day aeronautically-speaking so, as much as anything to try to generate some sort of discussion on aviation matters (as opposed to infrastructure and planning matters), I wonder if anyone thinks that easyJet's increasing presence at BHX will affect BRS in any way. If BRS is affected one can only think it would not be in a positive way.

Although BRS doesn't seem to draw that many customers from the West Midlands when surveys are carried out, some people who live not that far north of the city of Bristol might already find BHX as convenient to reach as BRS. I've read comments in the past from some living in the unitary authority of South Gloucestershire which largely forms part of the unbroken 'Greater Bristol' urban sprawl that they do use BHX at times because getting through or around Bristol can be a nightmare at certain times of the day.

If easyJet continues to grow at BHX and perhaps opens a substantial base some of those 'north of Bristol' residents might be tempted to use the Big Orange at BHX rather than at BRS.

Then again, if BRS continues to be capped at 10 mppa it would become largely academic anyway.

Part of me wonders if they're preparing the ground for that by expanding at BHX and testing the waters there rather than expand into the smaller airports near Bristol.

It appears that both Genoa and Stockholm have been dropped entirely from the easyJet network. Very sad and people on social media are not happy particularly Stockholm. Bristol seems to have no success at keeping Stockholm does it?

I was just about to post the same. Luton has also lost Stockholm and Genoa.

Not all easyJet Stockholm Arlanda fights have been taken out of the system for next summer. Basel and Berlin Schoenefeld have gone, along with BRS and LTN, but Berlin Tegel, Geneva and Milan Malpensa are in next summer's booking engine.

All the Genoa flights for next summer have been taken out: BRS, LTN, Manchester and Berlin Tegel.

Of the new routes in summer 2019, Montpellier and Rhodes began in early June. They both begin in mid-May next summer.

The other new routes for summer 2019 were Milan MXP, Brindisi and Biarritz that all began in early July in 2019. Milan is now year-round, Brindisi begins in early May and Biarritz in mid-May.

On a general matter, in the past hasn't easyJet's first batch of summer flights only been for the period up to 20-something of June? Next sumer they've gone as far as the end of August.

Just looked at the Paris CDG route. Both outbounds sold out tomorrow and the second Sunday inbound also sold out. Fares don't seem to be cheap either although I don't know how expensive CDG is for an airline to serve. flybmi operated into CDG from BRS up to 3 x daily so they could afford it, or perhaps they couldn't and it helped to bring about their demise.

What this does show is that the call from a number of BRS followers for a long time for CDG to be doubled in frequency from its single daily by easyJet seems to be paying off.

I wonder how many other easyJet routes might be worth a serious look. I remember BRS saying a few months ago that part of their growth strategy is encouraging airlines to increase frequency on some existing routes. It might also grab a few passengers back from LHR who use that airport even though there are also routes from BRS to the same destination, but which sometimes lack the frequency or timings that people want.

I wonder whether easyJet’s focus might now be on boosting routes to Greece , turkey etc post Thomas cook. However I agree as I have said many a time the likes of Berlin, Madrid , Rome etc really need improved frequencies and silly things like no Newcastle on Saturdays during the winter

When I booked my Paris flight with Flybe for November I looked at Easyjet for comparison and if I remember correctly the basic fare was around £65 one way which probably would've ended up close to £80 with addons so not uber cheap and I can't remember where I read it but I saw a comment about flyBMI Paris route in that the fees were so expensive that they had to fill the aircraft to make some sort of money on the route and they weren't a cheap airline if I remember correctly.

NCL remains a puzzle with its timings.

As has been the case for several years, Monday is the only day that it's possible to do a meaningful day trip from either end, and the three Friday rotations are all after midday from both ends.

Until a few years ago I used the BRS-NCL route a number of times to do day trips in the days when it was possible to do meaningful day trips on every weekday. It was noticeable that quite a number of passengers on the return from NCL I'd seen travelling up on the outbound that morning from BRS.

Last Stockholm flight has just departed. Another route and country no longer served

Think it’s gone. All released for next summer including La Rochelle plus it’s no longer on the drop down menu. Genoa joins it next month

Not seen or heard any thing about the A321 aircraft as they were due to start ops from BRS in September. If they not here is it due to the TC problems or has the start date been pushed back.

Booked another flight with Easyjet earlier. Glasgow to Bristol at the end of February. I was surprised by how cheap it was despite that the flight is 5 months away. For a one way flight it cost me £26.99, that includes £2.99 for seat selection!

Summer 2020

If easyJet is not operating Genoa and Stockholm next summer has anyone had a good look to see what, if anything, the aircraft that would have operated those services might now be doing?

The reason I ask is that with Thomas Cook's cessation there is a lot of potential traffic to Turkey and Zante in particular.

TCX operated 5 x weekly to Antalya, 5 x weekly to Dalaman and 1 x weekly to Bodrum.

Next summer TUI is due to operate 2 x weekly to Antalya, 2 x weekly to Dalaman and nothing to Bodrum (Tui doesn't seem to operate to Bodrum at all).

easyJet is due to operate 4 x weekly to Dalaman, 3 x weekly to Bodrum but nothing to Antalya. easyJet does operate to Antalya - from Gatwick, Luton and Manchester.

TCX operated to Zante 4 x weekly. Next summer TUI is due to operate 3 x weekly to Zante and easyJet 1 x weekly.

TCX has also left gaps of 3 x weekly to Palma and 2 x weekly to Menorca, Corfu, Tenerife, Enfidha and Larnaca plus 15 other routes where they operated 1 x weekly, two of which (Almeria and Preveza) are not operated by any other airline at BRS.

Given that BRS is an important easyjet base in terms of aircraft numbers, routes and rotations, it might be considered suprising if at least some of the TCX void is not replaced. I'm not suggesting a large part.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
