Just spent and hour with the kids in the garden on a very sunny Essex evening watching the planes. Have F24 on and 50 flights to and from BHX currently in the air. At this time of night that is pretty impressive. When I was a lad 50 flights a day was impressive.

But an A340 went over en route to LHR. Got me thinking, after I calmed down child number 2 after i told him it is one of the biggest planes in the world..."how does it stay up, it is so big?...but has an A340 graced the tarmac at BHX?

Jhas an A340 graced the tarmac at BHX?

The only regular scheduled A340 to BHX was the short lived Air Blue service to Islamabad. Other than that just a few ad-hocs here and there such as the French Air Force. We've had a couple of exotic A340 diverts over the years...Air Tahitia Nui, Air Asia X and South African Airways to name a few.

Wasn't there a semi regular flight from one of the Saudi royal famly members private a340s a few years ago? Dropping one of the kids to school from memory....in my day we walked.

Cobalt are back on track for now. 5B-DCR is on its way from Larnaca.

Air Transat is A332 C-GTSN which the most recent photos show as wearing Travel Service titles (after it was leased to them) but it hasn't done a lot of flying recently so it may have had its Air Transat titles painted back on since then. Will have to wait and see!

There are 32 biz jets (as it stands) booked into BHX over the weekend of 3-4 June for the Champions League final. Other airports are apparently turning them away - no more room?

Don't shoot the messenger but there may be a 747 visiting on the morning of June 3 (Saturday)!

Information from jon01 and centre cities on PPRuNe (y)

We have five Wizz flights today with three of those on an A321.

07:55 Warsaw (A321), 07:56 Bucharest (A321), 19:50 Budapest A320, 19:55 Sofia (A321), 21:20 Poznan (A320).

Blue Air from Bucharest is 738 YR-BMJ

TK1967/8 is 739 TC-JYI

Cobalt A319 5B-DCU

The British Airways flights are showing as G-LCYF (Florence), G-LCYT (Ibiza), G-LCYU (Palma) and G-LCYM (Malaga).

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
