On the other forum it's been reported that winter 2018/19 should come out on sale next week. So here's hoping for the return of Egypt and maybe a new route as well!

Has the security situation improved in Egypt now?

How popular would Egypt be should it be offered from Cardiff? While there are many who will go anywhere that offers a cheap holiday regardless there will be a significant amount who would want to head to perceived safer Spanish resorts.

Hopefully Eurowings and Norwegian will return for Summer 2018

Eurowings and Norwegian will return for Summer 18.
As for Egypt TOM did load up a provisional 2018/19 winter schedule which had Egypt on it 1 weekly every Monday. I'd be surprised if they couldn't fill the aircraft for a once weekly.

Which route would be for the chop to fit the Egypt flight in? I wonder if it's more sensible for the first winter to maybe only load Egypt from Manchester, Gatwick, Birmingham which are their biggest base. Gage the level of interest then if required put on the flights in Summer 2019 from other airports.

When they loaded it up it was as an extra. There were no times just dates and days loaded but on Mondays they had Tenerife and Egypt. They then took everything down a couple of days later. So it will be interesting to see if they load everything back up the same or if there is anything different.

Egypt will be returning for Winter 18/19.
There will also be 10 long haul flights. Not sure if TUI's own or including P&O

This year TUI aircraft will operating the following departures for W2017 (Total - 9)
I am not sure which will be operated on behalf of P&O and which will be for their own cruises.

25NOV TOM0046 Bridgetown
19DEC TOM724 Montego Bay
31DEC TOM834 Bridgetown
13JAN TOM168 Bridgetown
16JAN TOM724 Montego Bay
17FEB TOM168 Bridgetown
20FEB TOM724 Montego Bay
04MAR TOM834 Bridgetown
17MAR TOM168 Bridgetown

So if 10 departures is correct for W2018 then that would mean there is one additional flight.

The 25th November, 13th January, 17th February and 17th March are the P&O flights to Barbados and the rest are TOM holiday package flights.

According to a poster on WAF TUI will release winter 2018/19 tomorrow and Hurghada will be a new destination for CWL.

Hurghada is now on sale. It's a weekly flight on a Monday. The departure time says 10.30 so that must be the based aircraft. Curiously there is also a TFS flight on that day with a 14.25 departure.

Good stuff.

Does that intend on replacing SSH or is SSH also on sale for next Winter ? I’d check myself but unfortunately i don’t have time this morning !

Great to see HRG back on the boards at CWL, but since it’s basically a reshuffling of flights with the single based aircraft then it’s unlikely that any actual (real) growth will take place - Unless of course that TFS remains and is outsourced to Norwegian or the likes.

It's instead of Sharm el Sheikh.
I'd imagine that TUI are hedging their bets. If HRG doesn't sell well then they can always put the pax on the BRS flight. If it sells then its possible they could charter the TFS flight out or bring in an aircraft from another base.

This is what Winter 2018/19 looks like so far from TUI at CWL

Monday
CWL-TFS 10.30-14.35 TFS-CWL 15.50-19.55
CWL-HRG 10.30-17.50 HRG-CWL 18.50-22.50
Tuesday
CWL-ALC 06.55-10.20 ALC-CWL 11.30-13.00
CWL-TFS 14.25-18.30 TFS-CWL 19.30-23.35
Wednesday
CWL-PFO 11.10-17.45 PFO-CWL 19.00-22.00 only available in November, March and April.
Thursday
CWL-ACE 10.30-1420 ACE-CWL 15.40-19.30
Friday
CWL-TFS 10.30-14.35 TFS-CWL 15.50-19.55
Saturday
CWL-ALC 06.15-09.40 ALC-CWL 10.50-12.20
CWL-LPA 13.45-17.45 LPA-CWL 19.00-23.05
Sunday
CWL-AGP 07.10-10.45 AGP-CWL 12.00-13.40
CWL-ACE 14.55-18.45 ACE-CWL 20.00-23.50

So it looks like it's Malaga 1 weekly, Alicante 2 weekly, Gran Canaria 1 weekly, Tenerife 3 weekly, Hurghada 1 weekly and Lanzarote 2 weekly and Paphos 1 weekly in November, March and April. Looks like 1 extra weekly flight and 1 new destination.

Barbados
9th December 2018 CWL-BGI 11.05-15.30 23rd December 2018 BGI-CWL 17.50-05.10 +1 day
3rd March 2019 CWL-BGI 11.05-15.30 17th March 2019 BGI-CWL 17.30-05.10 +1 day
14th April 2019 but no flight details are available and no packages are on sale.
Jamaica
4th December 2018 CWL-MBJ 11.10-16.00 18th December 2018 MBJ-CWL 18.00-07.25 +1 day
15th January 2019 CWL-MBJ 11.10-16.00 29th January 2019 MBJ-CWL 18.00-07.25 +1 day
19th February 2019 CWL-MBJ 11.00-16.00 5th March 2019 MBJ-CWL 18.00-07.25 +1 day

If the 14th April flight sells then that will be an increase of 1 flight from TUI long haul.

It does look like that during December, January and February there will be no TUI flights on Wednesday's.

Interestingly Antalya has come up in the drop down for Cardiff Airport on the holidays website. It's down as once a week on a Friday but at the moment nothing is onsale. If they introduced this would TUI use Thomas Cooks flight?

Looking at the TUI website, it looks like DLM will go to 3x weekly with a Friday flight being added alongside the current Monday and Thursday. At first I thought it was an allocation taken off the TCX Fri flights, although the timings suggest otherwise!

'Other Carrier'
DLM 06:00 - 08:25 CWL
CWL 09:25 - 15:05 DLM

They still have Antalya in the drop down but with nothing on sale and that is down for a Friday as well so if that goes on sale then maybe they'll get someone like Pegasus Airlines to operate the flights for both?

There were a number of TBAs to Turkey from BRS recently which would've matched the Freebird routes this year and extras. It could be that now Freebird won't be operating into BRS as the 4th aircraft is coming that they've transferred the routes to other Airports and TUI are realising Turkey us making a comeback.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
