I believe that meetings were held in Jan.

No idea about an actual announcement, there doesn't seem to be an exact science to the timings of such things. Air India were 6 weeks (I think it was?) whereas others are over 6 months

Additional flights were added between the UK and China aimed at more regional services as they excluded London airports yet in the last two days there have been applications for Tianjin Airlines for Tianjin-Xi'an-London and now Beijing Capital Airlines for Qingdao-London

What about EDI-PEK, BHX-PEK, MAN-PVG? Or is it just all about London?

Maybe BHX should make friends with Norweigan Air Shuttle as EDI isnt working for them as more reductions announced today.
I was enthusiastic about the idea when Norwegian were still here and we were being teased with all kinds of rumours. Now I've seen how things are going...not so much.

I think JetBlue would have a much better chance of success with brand awareness on the other of the pond, and, just as importantly, a load of onward connections. Their A321 "Mint" cabin is getting rave reviews but they have said any transatlantic aircraft will have a more premium heavy configuration than domestic aircraft which might affect their route choices.

A sensible approach by Jet, bed in the capacity you have recently added before releasing any more. Whilst nothing appears imminent it's nice to know that BHX and MAN are at least in their thoughts for if/when they want UK expansion.

Indigo is an interesting one as the article says that they can choose from 787, 777, A330 and A350? Maybe I've missed it but I've not heard anything about an aircraft order from them as yet? They'll do well to acquire the aircraft and have them flying long haul routes by October?

Re: Indigo

Is it my understanding that they plan on taking over the Air India "international" flights so if we did get Indigo is it a possibility they would just take over the Air India flight or would this be an additional airline for BHX-India ?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
