Although the BHX-ATQ traffic is only a percentage of the total figure, losing 89% must have been a significant hit. What amazed me is despite 'losing' all of these passengers they've not only stayed loyal, but have gone from a 737/757 mix to a 757/777 mix. I think it may have finished other airlines off the route altogether.

Bangkok is an interesting one and I have to wonder if there is a certain 'backpacker' element looking for the cheapest fare possible to Thailand. I wouldn't have imagined that Turkmenistan would feature highly on most search engines? That said Mahan Air used to see healthy numbers to Bangkok via Tehran, which always surprised me

This is the issue with BKK.

There is more than enough traffic for several UK regional routes, but the issue is yield, hence we see Thai having issues, BA doesn't run First class and even Norwegian hasn't taken up LGW-BKK yet. This is also why we see rock bottom fares on Emirates et al, and obscure airlines like Turkmenistan getting some traffic.

Their figures as per the CAA Stats have been quite shocking (their numbers from Heathrow have been even worse), I do wonder if they are quite accurate ?

I wonder if flights to the US via BHX have been considered? That sort of thing might be rather beneficial given the lack of links there.

Is there any particular reason Turkmenistan have been putting 777s into BHX recently, is it increasing demand (hopefully ) lack of suitable equipment or some other random reason?

It would help if we could get some meaningful stats from BHX or the CAA but they appear to be a state secret, the sooner a CEO is appointed the better feels like a rudderless ship at present.

Loads over the last few weeks look to have been consistently between 280 - 290 pax. Probably unsurprising given the time of year but sill good to see.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
