Use this prefix for new threads for Leeds Bradford Airport
It would appear that the 62 to Keighley from the airport is now operating and I assume the 967 to Menston has stopped yet the LBA website makes no mention of this in "Getting to the Airport -by Bus". I would have thought the airport would have been keen to make this new change as quick as possible, after all it would also help the Keighley Bus Co to get the route established.

I will drop a line to the airport MD's secretary and point this out rmac. Hopefully they will get it sorted pretty quickly.Perhaps the person with responsibility for updating is on holiday!

There does not even appear to be a 62 timetable on Otley Bus Station for Stand 3!

TRANSPORT bosses have agreed to part-fund multi-million pound roadworks that could improve access to Leeds Bradford Airport.

The scheme would involve rebuilding the Harrogate Road / New Line junction on the A658 at Greengates, Bradford - one of the main routes to the Yeadon airport.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) considered a report on the project, which is expected to cost about £8.7 million, at its annual meeting on Thursday, June 28.

It agreed to approve funds of £6.7 million, from the West Yorkshire Plus Transport Fund, with the remaining costs expected to be paid for by Bradford Council.

Looks like this project has moved a step closer. I can't see how re-building the junction can make much difference if I'm honest. 8.7m seems rather a lot to do not a lot in my humble opinion, I hope I'm proved wrong.

I'd like to know how they plan on improving that junction?

Supposedly Bradford council are going to compulsory purchase land around the junction. I would think the only way they can improve the flow is to have slip roads or duel sections?

What about the war memorial?
I'd like to know how they plan on improving that junction?

I should imagine that if it has to be disturbed it will be relocated to a suitable site. As regards improving traffic flow, with access to more land and with careful planning and design it should lead to far less congestion and delay and be much safer, especially for pedestrians. Can’t be any worse than it is now.

Looks to make it worse unless they sync all the traffic lights. For example; if you want to turn left coming from harrogate road you have to go straight on, right then left. Fine. However if the filter lane lights are red AND there is a queue this could lead to the right hand lane coming to a standstill - lets hope they have use some common sense.

Looks like another nightmare road alteration! they had plenty of land to build a far better junction but decided to bang a farmfoods near to the current junction! also another reason so much traffic builds in that area is due to the amount of pedestrian crossings and minor junctions. it makes me laugh the stupid ideas they have for eg the now horsforth roundabout and rodley roundabouts which are far worse than before. In Alicante, spain they were a number of similar roundabout junctions that used to clog up but they used their brains there and built tunnels! I'm aware that would be difficult here but my god what a nightmare the roads are becoming here!

Its just crazy how bad the roads are becoming here, basicly between about 3pm and 7pm its gridlock and near on impossible to travel anywhere. I'm often in Alicante area and they know how to build roads properly, big wide roads, large roundabouts, tunnels and not the crap we have here! oh and not fulla pot holes and speed bumps lol

Or even worse a roundabout with traffic lights. Horsforth roundabout has been a total f@%k job since they did it!!

Spain gets a lot of its road building cash from the EU and they have more land than us, to do things with.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
