The kit came with East African decals, but I bought an extra set for BOAC. This gives the choice of BOAC or BOAC CUNARD. I think I'll go with the standard BOAC.

Watched a video review of the roden kit. Looks like a lot of patience will be required :banghead:

Ho Hum, I am back again!

It appeared that the 'upgrades' locked me out but I dug out an old device that 'remembered' my log in details and a big yippee from me. My time away has given me time to contemplate my future following bad news from my Neurologist.

The future of BHX bothers me more than that of myself. I offer one possible solution ...... if Andy Street fails to get re-elected to the Mayoralty in 2 year's time we should bag his talents and his energy to get the airport to cash in on the Commonwealth Games before London and Manchester airports gain more when BHX fails. If not him or P.K, perhaps the Baron Finkle could allow himself to become CEO since himself appears to have something about him where the current management struggle.

I have been following the incident at Gatwick seething with contempt for our glorious BBC and some of those baited whingers that seemingly know no better.

Claims for compensation will now flood in and my legal mind says most shall fall because they will be misjudged and directed to the wrong defendants. Egged on by journalism and claims management outfits, many will get burned with costs and a lovely New Year for Lawyers.

As for illegal use of drones, Gatwick is surrounded by UK Military assets capable of dealing with threats of all kinds.

All UK airspace is by default deemed Military and commercial airspace is ceeded to the Civil Airspace Authorities for day to day operations. This is why QRA exists for any aircraft that squarks 77**

I heard a snippet of inept reporting suggesting that Police were unable to shoot down a drone because of a risk of stray bullets!! Anyone would realize that it would be a highly trained military marksman doing any such work.

To the miscreants I suggest a sentence of lifetime Bankruptcy to help reimburse those significantly affected I.e. Gatwick Airport.

Now for a wee DRAM!

Apologies but I am unwell. Mistakes in my typing are unavoidable at this time ,

I have to own up to my aviation family to an allegiance that may offend you and equally result in my expulsion from this forum.

My football team has seen fit to dispense with the services of Mr. Mourinho, a decision to which I concur. Oddly, as a MUFC member, I have no input in management decisions and one cannot expect such with the Glazer family.

We now have a legend as a temp, oh deary me. Perhaps if Sir Alex were fit and well, I personally know of his condition, I have it, he would take over once more., Sadly not.

The noisy neighbours will again make me ill, if that were possible.

Now, about Solihull Moors, Moor Green as was etc., I recall Burton Albion v. Manchester United in the cup, Easy it was not. They did not fail, they showed progression. I recall when they ground shared with my local team, REDDITCH UNITED. A team going nowhere. Now look at Burton, they have progression whereas Man. United seemingly have not .

Moderators, dump me if you will, I shall not object.

Normally any Man U fan should be dumped, but I am sure I speak for all that despite that clear failing of football common sense you are well and truly not dumped but welcome. 😊

Thank you kind gentlemen, I assure you that at times, I have been tempted to revert to the club my hateful father assigned to me...i.e. Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The dreadful Portuguese maestro has gone and the smiling assassin has taken charge. My membership is intact until Roy Keane arrives.

I have been absent for a while for which I apologise. Illness has made itself present to a degree needing intervention. My existing brain condition, benign tumour, is impinging upon motor functions and others that may offer difficulties and does so at this time. IT IS NOT CANCER.

Discussions with my Neurologist and pain management doctors suggest no action at this time due to Pandememic issues affecting NHS generally. It is also inoperable. The growth is situate between Basal Ganglia and Brain Stem. The two regions of the brain that dictates life.

My response was not worthy of polite broadcast but never the less, let it be. I have accepted my outcome and am content. When one is aware of ones demise, life becomes something indescribable. There is also a peace of mind.

I expect to remain a member if granted but not expected. However, I do not expect to be a contributor as previously.

Thank you all.

Jennifer.

As always, and I am sure that I speak for all members of F4A, I am so sorry to hear that your condition has deteriorated.

Any input that you make to discussions is always so well thought out and we appreciate that you are restricted in your ability to respond, but we know that when you do so it will be a post that will so clearly allow others to follow on.

Take care and my very best wishes to you at this difficult time, but your strong will and personality will prevail.

I'd like to associate myself with Scottie Dog's sentiments. Every good wish.

I too would also echo the comments above.

I expect to remain a member if granted but not expected. However, I do not expect to be a contributor as previously.

I, and I think I can speak for most of us on here, would like to see you continue to contribute as much as you are able to.

As I've previously said, you know where I am should you need anything.

Mid August and oppressive heat renders me unable to function in the usual way for me. Peggy is on strike, she hides under my bed instead of on it. She will not eat and drinks her water when she does her business. The coolest place! My condition is as was in my previous messages, stable but with inevitable outcome.

I have a job in hand as forecast storms will cause great distress to her although I simply live for a Thunderstorm!

It's been oppressive here too, 33 to 34 C. It's not just the heat, but the humidity which I find unbearable. Sorry to hear that Peggy is suffering. Before my Sister emigrated, she had a wonderful white German Shepherd named 'Emma'. I remember in the hot weather, giving her ice cubes, which she absolutely loved. Dogs lose a lot of heat via their tongue, by panting. So, anything cooling on their tongue should help. Emma would 'chomp' on the ice cube until it became too cold for her, then spit it out. It was only ever a few seconds, before she would pick it up again. Hopefully, might will help Peggy to cope with the heat. Please, give her a pat from me.
As for the thunderstorms, I'm sorry that I can't give any advice. Like you, I love them (as long as I'm safe), but realise that like fireworks, they terrify animals.

An update

is overdue it seems, and thus I wish to update those that have an interest in my life and interests.

My medical status is and remains problematic, in that my Brain Tumour continues to be impactful at a basic level, that is toilet and movement of limbs on so forth. Medically, it is not a cancer but is a pain in the arse !

Academically, I have extending my study of LAW, and have been awarded to the degree of Master of Laws from the University of Birmingham, this equals the JURIS DOCTORATE I was awarded from Harvard Law School. All of this is my interest in Law as an academic field of study and in no way a professional outlet. My area of legal study is that of Constitutional Law, of all jurisdictions, hence my JD. I enjoy nothing more than a question that involves a legal wobble that a Barrister may formulate an argument in court.
My medical issues have prevented me from getting qualified to practise in court, this being my inability to speak, I am medically Mute. This makes me an academic Legal Scholar, simply a thoughtful being with an interest in Law.

I remain an active bystander of all that is BHX, I do so wish to visit the airfield before I expire, a time that is indeterminate.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
