Tuesday 25 December 2018

Six departures (and arrivals) today:

2 x Vueling -Alicante and Malaga
2 x TUI - Alicante and Tenerife
1 x KLM - Amsterdam
1 x Qatar - Doha

When was the last time CWL had more airline movements in a day than BRS? Last Christmas?

Four departures from BRS:

2 x KLM - Amsterdam
1 x TUI Tenerife
1 x TCX _Tenerife

Not sure, there may have been an occasion over a Christmas Period.

Last year however Bristol runway was closed due to bmi Regional going off the runway.

Failing that I would say it was when the Bristol runway was closed for a couple of days with the issue in the runway surface.
I should have made myself clearer. I was thinking of the timetabled programme, not when 'out of course' events such as an aircraft running of the runway or the runway resurfacing fiasco.

Occasionally there has been 2 x KLM departures and 2 x TUI departures from Cardiff on Christmas Day. There was one year when we had the ghost flight a BMED A321 positioning to Heathrow on Christmas Day. Unsure how this compares to BRS on same dates.

On a normal day it would probably been well over 15 years when on a normal day Cardiff had more movements than Bristol

Looking at the BRS Mayfly, Christmas Day 2016 saw 3 KLM departures, 2 TOM and 1 Titan (to Chambery); Christmas Day 2017 saw 3 KLM and 1 TOM; this year saw 2 KLM, 1 TOM and 1 TCX.

From memory this has been about the level for many years on Christmas Day although I have a vague recollection that one Christmas in the last ten years there were none, but I might be wrong there.

If memory is working ok. It has normally been 1 KLM out and 1 in at end of day. The last few years been a lot more compared to the earlier 5 years.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
