Maybe weather was poor at CMF, hence the divert to LYS...... don’t know if this was the case but would account for it if not technical.

Five hours just seemed a long time to wait in Exeter if only weather when other aircraft were able to land at CMF, and of course there would always have been the option to divert to Lyon. I see that there was also a long delay on a BHX>CMF flight later in the day, so perhaps airlines just erring on the side of caution. Thanks alphagolf and RedFlyer for your thoughts.

It was weather problems in CMF. Quite a bit of other traffic diverted to Lyon as well.

The BRS website arrivals/departures pages now seem to be fully functonal today. No flybmi flights are shown and the Loganair Aberdeen service is now displayed. No cancellations today either.👍

easyJet EZY3361 from Venice MP due 0910 and return EZY3362 at 0940 both cancelled

easyJet EZY6189 to Pisa at 1020 and inbound EZY6190 at 1525 both cancelled

I presume this is the result of an Italian airport workers strike today between 1000 and 1400. Ryanair's Venice MP flight departing BRS at 0635 and due back at 1140 seems to have operated in time to beat the strike.

KLM Cityhopper KL1049 from Amsterdam due 0830 and return KL1050 at 0900 both cancelled

Is this another weather problem at AMS?

Incidentally, the BRS arrivals/departures website pages are showing the Loganair Airbus shuttle flights from/to Toulouse and Hawarden today. I can't remember these flights being listed before when operated variously by flybmi and Eastern.

Could be fog problems? Cardiff's 09.45 arrival and 10.15 departure is cancelled as well.

Exeter was fogbound so few flights were likely to divert to BRS this evening after 22:30.

Jersey

For the past two days the arrivals/departures pages have shown BE6494 from Jersey at 1635 and BE6495 to Jersey at 1705 as cancelled.

BE6482 from Jersey at 1540 and BE6483 to Jersey at 1630 were both shown as operating.

I didn't think that the second Jersey rotation on some days began until later in the season.

There is an article posted this morning on Ukaviationnews that states Flybe are to close both Cardiff and Doncaster bases and reduce Exeter to a Dash 8 operation only at the end of the Summer 19 programme.

Also another post on the dried plum suggesting an announcement from Ryanair at Cardiff. Wonder if the 2 are linked...........

So further to the above it’s seems it’s looking like Cardiff will lose its ejets and just have dash 8’s suggestions it will be just domestic routes. Not good news for Cardiff or crew involved.

In addition the Ryanair news was the commencement of the Malta flights.

Nothing to do with flybe as these are operated by Blue Islands. Flybe just sell the tickets.
There is a flybe (blue islands) arrival from GCI. I didnt know they were now operating this route.

It's the point I made yesterday in post #1329. The 'regular' daily JER rotation has been operating normally but this week a second rotation has been shown on the website but marked as 'cancelled'.

I believe that later in the summer a second rotation will operate on some days although possibly not at the same timings and same flight numbers as the 'phantom' cancelled flights shown this week.

BRS website departures page shows Aer Lingus (Stobart) EI3287 to Dubin at 1910 cancelled. The arrivals page shows the inbound EI3286 from Dublin due at 1845 as landed.

The departures page also shows easyJet EZY449 to Belfast Int at 1915 cancelled. The return EZY450 at 2200 has no remarks against it on the arrivals page.

FR24 shows both the inbound and outbound flights on these two rotations as operated. This is not the first time in recent weeks that the BRS arrivals/departures pages have shown flights that actually operated as cancelled.

The 'phantom' Jersey flights continue to be shown on the BRS arrivals/departures pages each day and then marked cancelled.

Either the system is up the creek or there is a lack of awareness as to how to program it.

Im sure it could be a bit of both or a cheap and nasty system.It just don't make sense that no body can do or not do to get system working correctly.

I was in the check-in area on Thursday afternoon and I overheard a couple who were looking at the newish FIDs exchange a panic-stricken remark when they thought their Jersey flight had been cancelled. The phantom flight was shown on the FID as well as on the BRS website arrivals/departures pages and being a cancellation stood out because the FIDs show cancelled flights in red.

It took a moment or two for them to realise that the actual Jersey departure was still shown as operating.

That's the last thing any body wants is to see a flight cancelled or what ever reason. Lots of people are highly strung and this is something that has to be sorted or there will be problems with people going off the rails for wrong imformation.

There will be a stop enforced if lightning is within the area. All groundstaff are not allowed to work outside if it's in the vicinity. I'm guessing aircraft won't be allowed to land or depart if it's over the airfield as well.
