What is staggering is the number of cranes in Manchester. It now number 72

To put that in context it is more than all these cities put together;
Birmingham
Leeds
Bristol
Liverpool
And Newcastle

Respect to Manchester, it is flying. :cool:

I wouldnt say it is more than all those cities though as Birmingham currently has 35 cranes, Liverpool is around 25 (info from SSC) and im sure Leeds must have at least 10-15 cranes ?

:geek:

as we don't have enough construction work going on in Manchester, I note that what appears to be a rubber-stamping exercise will take place this week in the City Council Planning Committe meeting with another hotel to be built in the city centre (on Charles Street where there's a small car park, opposite Circle Square / or for the infrquent Manchester visitor where the old BBC building was)

BBC2 - Mantopia Tuesday's 9pm

Just started tonight this is a documentary based on the different sides of Manchester's population and lifestyle.

Well worth watching to see how the city is developing - and pricing some people out of their existing property.
