I noticed 1 of the flights from and to AMS has a slightly call/flight number. Its arr is city1065/KLC1065 and dep is city1066/KLC1066. Any one know what this is about

Callsign for Cityhopper?
I also noticed that a few days ago from the South Wales Aviation Group's arrivals/departures boards.

For example, today the 0915 arrival is shown as KLM13N, the 1645 arrival City1065 and the 2130 arrival KLM27H, with the return flights having correspondingly similar identifiers, ie City1065 is City1066 on the return to AMS.

Cardiff gets a mention in this!
I note the suggestion that carbon offset might become an opt-out with KLM instead of the current opt-in. I can see a UK government more 'green' in colour than the current one legislating for a carbon offset charge to be automatically levied with all air bookings, so there would be APD and carbon offset charges as part of the fare.

Yes i wouldn't be surprised if in the long term it became more of an opt-out and became mandatory for all airlines.

Looking at KLM for Summer 2020 and so far it looks like that from April to June the E190 will operate daily on the mid morning flight except for Saturday when it will be the E175. Also the Tuesday and Friday 6 am deparutres will be E190. July and August looks like they revert to all E175 and the E190 upgrades return in September. So a nice boost in capacity for next year.

My Paris day trip in November is now complete. Fly out with Flybe on the Q400 in the morning then return via Amsterdam with Air France on their A319, first time flying short haul with them, and then KLM on the E190. Pretty sure it'll be the first time i've flown on the KLM E190. 3 airlines and 3 aircraft types in one day!

How long a journey is Paris CDG-Amsterdam?

In the 1990s we once volunteered to be 'bumped' from an over-booked KLM AMS-BRS flight. We came back via Brussels with Sabena to BRS - shows how long ago it was. The AMS-BRU sector was on a Sabena F28 and we were in the air for 22 minutes. They still did a drinks and refreshment round but there were fewer than 20 passengers on board.

Probably not even an hour. On my Twitter account someone asked why I didn't do it by train. I looked that up and was surprised that it only takes 3 and half hours via Brussels by train from CDG to AMS.

Probably the high-speed Thalys trains between Paris and Amsterdam via Brussels. We've used them quite a lot between Brussels and Cologne in the past.

We haven't passed through AMS for probably 15 years - before that we used Schipol regularly. We always found it a user-friendly place (I hope it hasn't changed) although it did have a reputation for being rather cavalier with baggage. On three separate occasions we arrived home in the UK minus our bags, although they turned up eventually.

I've never done a continental rail journey so maybe something I might do in the future.
You certainly see more of the countryside close-up than in an aircraft. My wife and I have been 'training' across Europe for many years. In our experience the rail systems are usually extremely efficient, especially in Switzerland.

Can you remind me when the KLM 737 operated on CWL-AMS and whether it is shown for a repeat performance during the same period it operated last time? Many thanks.

It operated from the last week of February through March. I've checked KLMs website and it's not there, still 3 daily flights 1 E190 and 2 E175. It was added only a month or 2 in advance i believe but i don't expect it to come back. Hopefully between now and then KLM might upgrade another of the daily E175 flight to an E190 even if it's only on certain days. A 737 is something nice to dream about but a more realistic target would be all E190.

Although there must have been a reason to have used the 737 in the early part of this year so it might come back next year, but I can see how a permanent upgrade to a 190 on one of the other rotations would be better.

The flight itself wasn't always operated by a 737 though, there were a few times when it was operated by an E175 or a E190. It was an odd flight and personally looking back i wonder if it might have been related to Brexit as there was a lot of talk that in the event of a no deal the amount of flight frequencies being locked in so i'm wonder if they launched the flight so they would keep their 4th daily flight slot to Cardiff if needed. It wasn't just Cardiff as well it was Norwich as well i believe.
A regular 737 flight for Cardiff would be amazing if it happended one day!

Is there anyway of finding out how many % wise of passengers using KLM from Cardiff use it to fly short haul to Europe?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
