With the pending local council elections in May does one assume that if any of the Councillors who are on the planning panel who voted in favour of the new terminal are ousted by say GALBA or Extinction Rebellion candidates then the whole decision could be up in the air and overturned. God help us if this happens but knowing their underhand tactics it wouldn't surprise me if they field some candidates with the mandate to reverse the result. Could also work the other way of course, we could elect some pro airport Councillors. Any legal experts here, once approved in principle subject to these further discussions with the airport authority can the decision be changed.

We need to vote for the Yorkshire Party at the West Yorkshire mayoral Election. They want a light rail built to the airport. See the article on the Wharefedale Observer website for more details.

Tracey Brabin has been named as pro LBA and is quite likely to win. That again shows how out of step out Leeds and Bradford Labour MPs were in opposing the terminal.

I spoke to Bob when he knocked on my door a couple of years ago. He was far from supportive.

The Yorkshire Party disapooint me, they claim to want the best for Yorkshire as a whole but their policy on the airport, which is very 'anti', is based on nimby'ism. Their leader lives in Rawdon.

What exactly does he want? I presume bob is the Yorkshire party candidate.

Looks likely Tracey will walk into the role tbh.

Bob lives in Rawdon, he was firmly against the airport link road plans that could easily have become the first phase of an Aireborough bypass that could have benefited Rawdon, Yeadon, Guiseley and Menston. He claims he isn't against the airport terminal plans but he doesn't want any night flights, despite aircraft being considerably quieter now than when night flying was introduced at LBA when granted back in the 90s. Bob previously ran as an independent as he doesn't fit into the traditional political landscape.

I am stuck team I really am! I’m a Labour man at heart, but my beliefs and values in my head don’t fit with the majority of the local candidates. I consider myself to be in the centre, neither left or right. I don’t believe in Brexit, but I accept it. I do believe we need to look after the working class, but I also believe in a free market economy and a light touch approach from government. I just wish Andy Burnham would come this side of the Pennines! I refuse to vote for anyone who sits with the “woke” green new age agenda, and at the moment in my head that leaves me with one choice, and it pains me to say it, but the only party I can think of that backs business is the Conservative’s.

I feel Labour are getting too involved with environmentalists and it's going to back fire when people start losing their jobs.

I'm sure most people will agree the environment is important, but forced change such as that proposed by Labour isn't ever going to work.

We're told to get out of our cars, cycle and walk everywhere but our infrastructure wont allow that to ever happen.

Its one for your own conscience. I think it would be good though as a 'dyed in the wool' Labour voter if you could make your views known to your local Labour MP. It will carry more weight if you explain you are one of their grass roots supporters.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
