None of that matters as far as GALBA are concerned. LBA has to be sacrificed to save the planet. They are now complaining that the 28 of them only had 2 minutes each to object. Sounds like they may claim that wasn't sufficient.

Can you imagine, 28 of them prattling on interminably? Now that would be grounds for a judicial review! They’ve had every opportunity to state their case exactly the same as we did so can’t see any grounds to challenge the consultation process or the planning meeting itself.

I thought that LCC acted very even handed in allocating the same amount of time to supporters and objectors. The only reason why each individual supporter had more time was because there were 4 times as many objectors.
Had they restricted the number of speakers to the same as supporters, they would still had only 2 mins and so would the supporters. They shot themselves in the foot with that one.

Admin supervisors, managers, IT people. Maybe I shouldn't say this but given the current economic climate even minimum wage jobs are going to be sought after.

It is inevitable that some jobs will be on minimum wage, but jobs are jobs and in the current economic climate we shouldn't be turning any forms of employment down. Would these people rather the unemployed who want to work stay on the dole?

Had the airport not succeed with it's application, it would likely go into decline ultimately risking the airports future. During the campaign to support the airport we spoke about what the alternatives would be for the airport site if the airport weren't there. A retail park, industrial use or even possibly a prison were all things mentioned as possible alternatives to an airport. A retail future for the site would largely be minimum wage. Pickers and packers at a factory would likely be minimum wage too. It's unlikely security guards at a prison wouldn't fare much better either.

What the new terminal and the parkway will do is they will provide a catalyst for employment and support jobs throughout the area. The planned Airport Village has potential to support a variety of businesses offering a varying degree of remuneration. What is certain though is objectors of the airport will object to the parkway too, even though the plan is for it to serve Horsforth and Yeadon not just the airport. Objectors of the airport will also disapprove of the planned business park which isn't even related to the airport. Objecting for objecting sake, that's all they're doing.

From the rumours im hearing today plus what the media is suggesting its looking like all non essential retail including myself will not be returning to work until may/june! Even worse no hols until August! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH will they be any businesses left at this rate! Can the airlines survive at least half the year without operating? So im unable to do my work yet when i visited a B&M store it was rammed with no social distance what so ever! The madness of this country continues, angry!

A travel task force will publish a review on 12 April.

Former PM Theresa May complained that this does not allow people time to plan their summer holidays or for the aviation industry to prepare. She asked the PM to reconsider saying, "The industry needs three months' preparation from the point of certainty"

The PM responded by saying that "It will give people time to make their plans for the summer and if we can meet these 'not before' dates there is every chance of an aviation recovery later this year".

I forgot to add that international travel will not be permitted until at least 17 May.

So we are looking at around june then for the aviation sector to start.

May 17th at the earliest is all that has been said and I think the government are being over cautious so if the take up of the vaccine remains good and the effectiveness of the vaccine continue to perform better than expected, I think airlines really can start planning for mid May now.

We don't need any incentive. 90% uptake so far - again there is no need for all these useless threats about passports and proof to enter venues in the UK. The uptake is good enough in my eyes. The moment they start talking about proof to enter restaurants etc that is the moment they loose any public confidence. I'm up for the vaccine but I'm only up for it as it is my choice & I have read around it. I don't want this facist government telling me I should have one to live the life I lived before all this.
