Absolute set of plebs.

As @Aviador says if people wanted extreme climate change we would vote accordingly. Fact is, the fact these brain dead morons dont like, since the 1990's Britain has reduced it's carbon emissions by 40%. What's China done? Whats India done? Whats Brazil done? They should direct there energy into changing our foreign policy and trading policies rather then taking on little ol' LBA. Not only that we are starting to see the real truth in terms of costs for going green. I'd love one to come into the hornets nest but I doubt we'll see them come on here as they'd be lynched.

Makes me also laugh; they'll post information, videos, photos etc all through iPhone and the internet. One of the biggest attributors to climate change. A server requires electricity to keep going, to produce electricity results in carbon been released into the atmosphere.

He's an absolute waste of £81,092. As a servant of the public he's neither a servant nor works for the publics best interest. Only works for a slim section of his constituents (the looneys who want us all to live in the cave) whilst ignoring the fact in his consistency he probably has a good chunk of pilots employed at the airport, has the airport as a major employer it's self in his constituency boundaries, whilst the City of Leeds and wider Yorkshire region has the HQ of the 2nd largest tour operator/quite a large airline employing a fair chunk of staff. But for this useless waste of money he cannot and will not see it.

He’s also been to the Craven College a lot I believe and boasts about supporting the airport and speaks to the students there Ect… one thing I hate is hypocrisy which he is a perfect example of one. He’s not a good MP and doesn’t support the views of the people he’s suppose to represent I’m so glad I don’t have him as an MP but feel sorry for anyone that does!

Hurray, Sherburnflyer92 you've hit the nail on the head. These so called politicians are self serving more worried about loosing their salaries and perks that we the people are denied.
No matter what actions we take, whether enlightened or not, the earth will do it's own thing as it has done for millions of years.

This is it. And a green environmentally friendly airport, with a new railway station not only providing links to the airport but also overflow capacity from the nearer Horsforth rail station will benefit the local area and fit nicely in with the governments strategy.

I wonder what these numptys think caused the last ice age and at its end, the glaciers to melt. Thousands of years before man was creating CO2. All of the UK as far South as Alexandra Palace, in North London, was an ice sheet for thousands of years. Then, it all melted, all by itself, and we were left with ice at the North Pole, Greenland, Antarctica and glaciers in the mountains. Nothing to do with mankind. As LS27 says, the Earth does it's own thing, with regular changes to climate along the way. Oh, and the Sun does it's own thing too.

Yes, the people of planet Earth can do a bit to help but these lunatics will destroy our civilisation given half a chance. They are fanatics and all fanatics are dangerous - but in my view GALBA hide behind climate to disguise their true NIMBY status. I have nothing but contempt for them and the MPs who are now part of them.

Today GB news broke the news that ER have cost the state in £50 million police bills. We should as the government bill these b@stards for disruption and waste of police time.
Good to know others are watching GB news, i love the channel, farage and dan wootton are great!
Like ls27 points out the earth will do what it wants like it has done for millions of years, billions in fact! Humans will have a slight effect but the planet is huge and any bad emissions will surely just dilute and dissappear!
I would say the main issue is there is too many of us on planet earth, population control is the number one priority!

Just read an article that the government are planning to axe the Leeds leg of HS2 due to the costs.

This could be good for LBA though as we might get more people flying rather the train as trains are damn useless a lot of the time.

They’re all encouraging us to become greener but doesn’t seem like that’s the case. Train ticket price rises Ect… and HS2 might be coming either. They’re encouraging more flying which suits me flyings more reliable and gets me to places faster.

Even more reason to get this new terminal!

If thats the case, the terminal decision is probably being held back as a sweetner to make up for the axing if the HS2.

Robert Jenrick will announce...
'Sorry folks, Yorkshire remains second class and less important than Manchester, so your bit of HS2 is scrapped, but never mind. You can have your nice new airport terminal instead, just to show that we do care about your region, even though it will really p**s off those ER and GALBA lot'.

How's Farage these days? I've noticed he's gone quite on British farmers and fishermen....

Politics being played, clearly Manchester being favoured again, i think they will also get a new HS2 Man-airport station too.....meanwhile over in Leeds we get a bag on peanuts, and maybe a new terminal as consolidation.

Again one for our local Mayor, she and all our local MP’s need to be challenging regional disparity in transport spend by region. Why should our tax pounds generated here in the north, go to fund vanity projects in the capital or other regions? Yorkshire and Humber do pretty poorly when referenced against other per capita spend. This is not just the case in transport, but education etc. The Barnett formular is another historical anomaly that means that Scotland with a similar population to Yorkshire, again has more spent by head of population. Federal systems with local and central funding pots, generally have much better transport systems which serve their region and links to others- each region benefits more fairly. Our Mayor and MP’s need to be shouting up for our fair share and then spending sensibly and not just on cycle lanes - like I would be cycling round my neck of the woods, it’s a bloody 1in 3 hill outside lol

Re GALBA and Climate Change stopping air travel. Has anyone been to our many tourist hotspots here in the UK? They seem to be more crowded than usual (Pre Lockdown). Is this because it now so difficult to guarantee a trip to the usual tourist destinations abroad? If this is so, how much extra CO2 immersions driving too and from our great tourist spots is this causing?

I think they are all little dictators. They demand every one accept their lifestyles which they set for us, within their own narrow self righteous boundaries.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
