And just like that, all of the excitement and enthusiasm came to a sudden end.
I don't understand that comment. If it does happen, I'm quite intrigued as to why it would operate into BHX. Could it be to do with Rolls Royce PLC being located in Coventry (if it was anything to do with RR Derby, surely EMA would be used).
If (and again, it's' if it happens') we'd been told from the start that it would have been an Airbus research aircraft, would you still have made the same comment? After all, is was hardly likely to be a new service by an airline other than EK.
I hope it happens and am enthusiastic for it. Could it possibly imply more visits in the future?

Kevin

Oh sorry because I was getting excited of potential visitors from far off lands rather than a flying test bed.

And no I didn't think for a minute it was a new scheduled service either.

I make todays scheduled departures one hundred including plenty of flag carriers in no particular order.

Air France (3)
Aer Lingus (4)
KLM (4)
Lufthansa (6)
SAS (1)
Swiss (1)
Brussels (1)
Emirates (2)
Turkish" (3) + Sun Express

Other foreign carriers including Eurowings (4) Prague, Stockholm & Dusseldorf (2), Vueling (2) Wizz(5) and not forgetting Ryanair (22).

Also plenty of EasyJet, Jet2 and Tui plus other bits and bobs.

Beginning to look like more like normal times I think last Friday was over100 departures but not sure as I've been away a while.
I hope that check in and security etc are all up to it - doubtful?

Most information from Ian's movements site which is not showing the Airbus A380 F-WWOW as arriving.

Privilege 767 EC-LZO arrived earlier from DUS with a TUI callsign. Subbing for a based aircraft possibly?

May be something and nothing but just watched Jet 2 321 take off when I got off train at Marston Green and noticed landing gear wasn’t retracted, is it a test flight or something amiss?

It is not usual to leave the gear down after take off unless they have a fault or for brake cooling (if brake temp inop).

Look at 9H-SLG flights on flight radar since its been at BHX, I suspect they have problems as it appears to be on a 3rd test flight in 2 days, it is currently in a holding pattern south of BHX.

It's currently holding between Redditch and Kidderminster but it doesn't seem to be operating with a Jet2 flight number/callsign according to FR24 so may be some kind of test flight.

EDIT...the flight number EXS300T suggests crew training flight.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
