I think we can pretty much guarantee that with the exception of cruise flights in the winter that we won't see TUI long haul at Cardiff in the summer. Their long haul focus for this area is at Bristol and i don't see that changing. Their long haul at Doncaster is because Doncaster is their Yorkshire base and they have no other long haul in the area. Maybe with reference to Doncaster it could be more of an example of what CWLs TUI route network could look like if TUI were ever to base a 4th aircraft at the airport. It would be good to see TUI long haul back at CWL. Doncaster has just secured a weekly Cancún service.
Looking at it from TUI point of view and I think Bristol covers the whole SW of England and Wales for them and they have Gatwick etc for any overflow. The BRS flight to Cancun this week had to make a stop at Shannon because of the weight restriction at BRS, it's odd that they persevere at BRS, when they often have to make a stop en route even to Orlando, they obviously think their yeald at BRS, would be better than CWL. Things could alter if we ever get a WIZZ A321XLR at CWL.
Yes sorry my mistake, the PMI flight was just a positioning flight and it is operating the Heraklion flight. Departure at 18.00 i believe.SWAG are showing the A330 as operating the Heraklion flight, is it a shortage of planes or a massive boost in bookings? I would guess a staffing issue, or a plane gone tech, it would be nice to see an A330 at CWL on a regular basis.
The TUI Orlando flight hasn't had to make a tech stop since the days of a B763 on the route. If the Cancun flight has to make a fuel stop there are a number of reason this may occur.
The A330 from HiFly today operated the TUI Reus 06.00 departure, it departed at 08.30, but it went to Barcelona instead because i don't believe Reus was able to handle it, the return Reus was operated by a TUI 737 MAX.TUI have brought in a HiFly A330 to operate PMI today.

I seem to remember that they were having problems with their catering supply company who were short of staff so they had to cut the food offering. Maybe the company, which is likely to be the same as the caterer, that makes up their duty free carts maybe also having a staff problem as well. The whole aviation industry seems to be having a staffing problem at the moment.I travelled to Dubrovnik and back with Tui in the last week or so.
Duty free was unavailable on both flights and overheard the air hostess saying that they were not getting any sent to the airport but didn't hear the reason why but it was frustrating for them because they couldnt earn commission on the sales.
Anybody know why?
Seems a bit of an odd situation, she also commented on their struggle with crew numbers at the moment.
