I think most of the blame lies with Stuart Andrew personally.

What I object to is the forum being used as a platform for espousing political views and biases and often directing abuse (as opposed to criticism) at politicians.
I'm not sure, being from away, what part Andrew played in this so I am not being critical of him for that reason but it must be remembered that politicians of all hues do as they are told mainly. I don't trust any of them for that reason. Where I agree however is in my distaste for the "forum being used as a platform for espousing political views and biases and often directing abuse (as opposed to criticism) at politicians". Disagree certainly, but the forum and the individual uttering such stuff suffers when things go beyond criticism as they have had a tendency to do at times. That sort of thing brings the forum into disrepute and turns prospective members away.

My original post was definitely not aimed at only one or two individuals so no need for anyone to assume.

The moral of the story is let's get back to keeping the LBA forum about LBA and the goings on there!

Lets keep on topic, so if your post is not related to the thread then put it somewhere where it is.

If you want to discuss current affairs, and politics use the dedicated section elsewhere in the forum.

No discussions about conspiracy theories regarding Covid or Global Warming, the Google "police" don't allow it and therefore the forum will be penalised if you post it.

Importantly if your discussion isn't suitable for under 18s then it's not suitable content for the forum.

Last but not least, the "Report" function is only to be used for reporting posts that have clearly broken the forum T&Cs.

Environmentalists are winning. Well it’s not them winning, it’s the globalist elite (WEF, UN, WHO, Bill Gates, Klaus) that are pushing the “climate change” agenda onto us all whilst flying around in their private jets with one person in each of those. But environmentalists will see this as a big win. Reality - it’s a big loss. As you’d fully expect jobs and the economy take the first hit.

I hope somewhere like Rotterdam can start acting as relief airport.

People will just take the train to airports in neighbouring countries. Cant see them letting Rotterdam expand.

I believe the Dutch just shot themselves well and truly in the foot. If I have a office in Amsterdam and sending clients via neighbouring countries cities (cologne and Brussels) then I’ll just move the office than have them face inconvenience due to a ill thought out process.

How does 440,000 movements compare with the number currently taking place and what , without larger aircraft being introduced, will that mean for passenger numbers? Schipol is huge and has grown considerably over the years to accommodate the increasing numbers choosing to fly from there. If implemented without amendment it is bad news for the Dutch economy in my view.

Don't tell the crazed hippie environmentalists this. "We WiLl cReAtE a MoRe CaRbOn FrIeNdLy EcOnOmY" - deluded is a nice way of saying it.

Will they not just transfer general Dutch holiday flights to Leylstad which they have been developing over the last few years? That will then remove some of the noise and capacity issues, whilst allowing Schipol to concentrate on KLM hub? The reduction of slots basically transferred to Leylstad which is less constrained and in a more rural setting.

I cant imagine they will reduce flights at AMS and then permit a corresponding increase in flights from other Dutch airports.

Probably also worth posting that link in the 'Amsterdam (AMS)' thread in the 'European Airport Forum' section.

Kevin
Having posted earlier here on this subject on reflection I too think it should be in the AMS section of the European Airports. It does affect LBA but it is significant to many UK airports too so would benefit from being moved lock stock and barrel.

Why not post it in every section then at least some people can have a good winge about it !!
I realise that fewer people view the 'European Airport Forum' than the 'Airports in the United Kingdom' section, but I think if everyone started repeating posts in every thread that they were relevant to, it would soon become quite unwieldy. Better to make use of the thread dedicated to the topic. It's then there if people want to view it.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
