Do you get many aircraft overhead near you?
Living so close to Duxford, I get a fair few warbirds overhead. Also military traffic for Mildenhall and Lakenheath.
Where was that heading?
According to FR24, Cambridge to Cambridge, but more likely Duxford to Duxford.

Is anyone else having problems with FR24? Each time I view the website, I get a small advert video in the bottom right of my screen. I have no problem with this, as I understand that FR24 has to make money in order to allow free access. But recently, the advert has expanded to take up almost half of my monitor. Extremely annoying!

It is annoying but appreciate why it's there. Online advertising is making less money these days due to adblockers.

As I said, I don't mind the advert being there when it's small and occupies a small area of the screen. But, after a few seconds, it expands to cover half of the screen. I understand that the website needs to cover it's costs in order to offer a limited free service, but taking over half of the screen is new and annoying.

This is what I see every time I visit the FR24 website -

There is no way to close the video/advert. If I refresh the web page the video is back within a minute. Is anyone else experiencing the same?

I clicked on the green 'Remove' sign at the top of the video and it opened a new tab, with various levels of accounts. I registered for a basic free account and it seems to have done the trick, but I've only had chance to view the website for a few minutes, I've never needed to have an account before. Have to see how it goes.

[EDIT] - No, it's still doing the same! My ISP is Virgin.

Are you using Firefox Kevin? maybe its the browser thats causing it?

I have a subscription to FR24, so don't see the adverts, but when i open it up with out login in, on chrome or edge the advert just says in the right hand corner for me.

Thanks Matt.

I found this on the FR24 FAQ page -

'The nature of ads is that they are provided in bulk from many sources and that can lead to individual cases where the ad is not working as it is supposed to. This can e.g. mean:

The ad provider does not show any option to close an ad

The ad is playing sound

A video ad fills the whole screen and the app is blocked

New ads pop up every time you click on aircraft, they come up very often during a session

We have a thorough scanning process in place but, unfortunately, there is still some ads that somehow make it through.

That means that if you encounter anything as described above, please contact support with a screenshot of the ad in question HERE. We will then make sure that the ad will be blocked and not show any longer as soon as possible.'

I have contacted FR24 and describes what I am seeing, although I didn't attach a screenshot.
Yes, I am using Firefox, but I'll try Edge or Chrome.

I use chrome and I only get the small advert in the corner. I do not pay a subscription.

If you zoom in on Cheltenham, right now there are many helicopters converging on the town for the horse racing. Some have the call sign “Jockey” or “JCKY”.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
