I agree with Coathanger16 Gatwick has long been the waiting room for Heathrow. Virgin are the prime example having started at Gatwick and it became their main base they slowly moved services over to Heathrow and now all London services are based their I believe. Many other airlines have done similar and not just USA services and sweep up traffic from the BHX catchment along with Manchester picking off a fair bit as well.

It's BHXs perennial issue discussed many times over it feels like groundhog day.

I hope this is the right thread if not apologies. I read an article this week about Breeze airlines a US carrier who are looking to establish a transatlantic network from east coast. They operate mainly from “second” cities in the US operating 2 class A220’s on thin routes. Possibly a good fit for BHX? The owner started Jet Blue so at least there’s some pedigree too

Regarding Breeze operating from the US East coast, the article I read stated they were looking to start flights from New York and Boston to Dublin.

With regard to proposed flights by Spice Jet to BHX and MAN, I note that one of their aircraft was impounded in Dubai yesterday. The company is the source of criticism and speculation in India over its financial health. It may make their improbable route proposals to UK even more improbable.

Brusssels should be 12 a week (2 daily flights Mon-Fri), Germany must be higher with LH/EW/FR/EZY all operating, and Ireland is certainly much higher than 46 with DUB, SNN, ORK, NOC served, and I have Turkey down as 101 flights a week, how do you get 113? what makes up the extra 11 flights? Portugal should also be higher, and im sure there are more that 14 Poland flights a week? - The numbers of flights will also of course vary from week to week, depending on the month etc..

Ah Well I know we have flights to Paris I was thinking that maybe BVA on Ryanair might be more of option for people who can't afford to fly AF to CDG if it was closer. But CDG is Closer and I guess as France has a better Train Network than us the TGV can get you there probably in the same time as a train from Wolverhampton to Walsall takes

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
