Air China has been showing for months as op to BHX but sadly MAN have secured it and EMA have secured the Air One 744F at 5 per week !
I'm not sure where this leaves the B747 cargo operations through BHX. There have only been the occasional Air One service, with the majority being with Air Atlanta Icelandic subsidiaries. Have these all been amalgamated into the Air One services to EMA, or will they remain at BHX?
If the B747 cargo flights are all moving to EMA and BHX have turned away the Air China Cargo flights, because of the B747 cargo flights, then this is very bad management on behalf of BHX or the cargo handling agent.

I don't know but possibly the recent flights originating from China are to do with the situation in the Red Sea causing some shipping to take the much longer route round the Cape, if that is the case they would only probably be temporary as far as BHX is concerned although we can only hope.

Anyway make the most of it.

Maersk

Looks like Maersk have now switched their previously twice-weekly flights to Birmingham. Blue City are reporting on LinkedIn that there will be three flights a week from Hangzhou (via tech stops at Navoi and Billund as before)

Couldn't help but notice YR-FSA the ROM Cargo 744F that was previously operating into BHX last night operated into EMA and nightstopped as it normally would here. Is that a carrier gone already?

Could it be that BHX has let some 747 flights go so that they can handle Maersk? I have a worry (this is a personal hunch, I don’t have inside information) that Maersk might only be operating into BHX due to a lack of slots at EMA, where they already have a large presence.

I came to this exact conclusion in a conversation with a friend just last night, though like you it's based on a hunch and no solid information, other than a well-known capacity/handling limit cargo wise. I do think losing that Air China 777F is going to come back to haunt us

I have heard that the LHR freighter flights are being re-routed to BHX due to slot issues. I believe the flight today is routing via STN but Saturdays should be coming direct to BHX.
Will this op 3 or 4 weekly ? 773 or 772 ?

I've always taken an interest in the freight side of things from way back in the mists of times when Alitalia and SAS operated DC -9 freighters into Elmdon (hanger three) but I'm getting confused with all the new comings and goings as to who's temporary or who's permanent regarding the big uptick in long haul freight flights.

Maybe one of the "in the know" members could enlighten me although I have a feeling much of it is a case of how long is a piece of string 🤔

Anyway BHX is currently in a golden patch regarding freight.

According to the Emirates sky cargo website B777-200LR is due in from stansted at 9am tomorrow morning and departs at 11.55am tomorrow morning to Dubai cargo centre DWC

Can anyone confirm for me where tomorrow’s emirates cargo flight is due from please thanks.
Last Thursdays EK9923 routed Hong Kong - Dubai - Stansted - Birmingham. Its currently operating via STN instead of LHR due to some sort of slot issue at the latter. It departed BHX last week to Dubai so my assumption is it will follow the same route this time. Its a regular service normally operating into LHR. I do not know why it calls into STN en route to BHX.

The flight tomorrow currently shows operating into LHR not STN with no mention of BHX but that's exactly what FR24 showed last week, tommorow will tell.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
