You’ll find nothing out on Wednesday Seasider!
We’re playing the guessing game just as much as you!

I mean shall we be honest. The people who deal with the operation at the front line, day in day out, be it behind the scenes in the office, on the ground or on the plane whether flying or cabin crew, or engineers - are the very last people to know anything. In fact they know after the public most of the time.

Let's address some of the what ifs:

A merger with TUI - I doubt it. Jet2 are very good at letting companies die and then expanding. Remember they could have had Thomas Cook airlines operations but didn't touch. Could have bought Monarch but didn't. Excel Airways - but didn't. The list goes on.

Merge with easyJet - possible. However I foresee easyJet holidays and Jet2holidays becoming the largest tour operators in the UK with TUI dropping into 3rd place and been a decent tour operator but unable to expand. easyJet/Jet2 would get on but imagine that chaos at MAN - 40+ aircraft.

LGW base - it wouldn't be such a published way. And rumoured. Plus it would be far more concrete then what the hell is it.

Now the rumour mills are in overdrive given the MAN - I'm putting 2+2 together. MAN, Jet2, Long haul gap, A321 orders 146 that I suspect have caveats in contracts to convert over to A330NEOs.

In some cases yes but others such as when they’re planning new routes we get to know before they announce publicly.

I don't actually think it's LGW either. Just putting a few thoughts out there for discussion. In my view A330s is the most likely with a merger or acquisition not far behind. All that said though Jet2 have always been master tactical technicians so could be absolutely anything tbh
We have to look at this in the context it was posted. I have no idea what the OP does exactly, but there is a rumour about an announcement on Thursday that is something the company have been working on for quite some time but it’s nothing to do with new aircraft or new routes or even new bases. It would be a game changer to some though.

I doubt this would be a game changer announcement, in the sense we're hoping for...although I could happily be wrong...But they've done this before by leaking 'Game Changer and a date in the past, to find out it's been nothing of the kind...

It's straight out of the Michael O'Leary playbook.....works for him...

We will all have to be patient

With MAN saying what they have it has to be A330s and Long Haul surely, as that would be a real game changer, albeit quite risky. Anyways that is where my money is (if I was a betting man) but as @paully says we shall just have to be patient - at least for 2 more days
Don't think it would be New York as Aer Lingus UK and Virgin cover that. Maybe dipping their toe in to the American market with one of the cities that both Thomas Cook and Virgin flew to ie San Francisco or LA. It would be a game changer for Jet2 as they seem to be moving into the package tour market. No doubt I will be wrong.

Florida, Mexico and the Caribbean would be a good start for an A330

Based on all the speculation, it doesn't seem to be a game changer as far as LBA ops are concerned. I find it hard to get excited unless whatever is announced affects LBA in a positive way.

With long haul and game changing aircraft (30 NEO) it’s up to LBA to have a decent terminal for the throughput.

Regardless if it doesn’t affect LBA, it affects the Leeds city region and will create jobs and grow our economy some more through the creation of job. I get not exciting but it’s not something to turn our nose up at.

Unless of course they are moving HQ to MAN. That rumour loves doing its rounds ;)

Very true but hopefully a new route being announced but approaching the winter period I cant see much happening unless FR or LS add an extra winter one. Still not sure Easy are going to do anything more than Paris…hope I’m wrong on all counts.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
