Barcelona, Berlin and Milan Malpensa would all be logical adds - and are all easyJet bases. [Palma, Alicante, Malaga and Faro are all bases too...]

I'm led to believe that there is definitely something afoot, and if Paris is going as well as suggested here, that can only be helpful to persuading them to do more.

If Paris really is doing so well then an all year round service and hopefully with greater frequency seems likely. Hopefully that will form part of any forthcoming announcements.

I too hear talk of easyJet increasing their LBA presence although when and by how much is an unknown.

I have flown easyJet today from Gatwick to Ljubljana. I really like them. Love an Airbus…just seem so much bigger in the cabin than a 737. I hope we get some news about a few summer routes from LBA soon 🤞🏼
I too flew to Ljubljana with them from Gatwick, just before Covid arrived, and spent some time in Ljubljana towards the end of our holiday. A city well worth a few nights if you ever get the chance from LBA. The thing I like about Easy is that they go to places other operators don't necessarily touch, but not from Gatwick if you have any sense. We were driven there and back and wouldn't have gone otherwise. Three cheers for Easy regional expansion.

Nice small airport that is a doddle to get through too. The Airport is a quite an expensive taxi ride away from the City though. It was then although, as in all cases when talking about the past, things may have changed now so check out the various travel websites. To see Slovenia, which is in today's world is a haven of peace and quiet, you do need to be mobile though so bear that in mind when planning.
🤞🏼

So many potential opportunities, but BCN stands out for me. Looking at the decline over the years, when I flew from LBA back in the summer of 2016, the route was serving ~11K+ passengers p/m over 3 carriers. Now it 's down to ~2.5 K and performs poorly when compared to LPL, EMA, NCL and MAN.

I know it's a right Spain in the neck!

There are definitely some good city destinations available for easyJet at LBA along with some stock beach destinations as have already been mentioned.

And if CDG is selling well that must be opening their eyes still further.

Lots of strong rumours that plans are afoot so lets hope we don't have to wait too much longer for that official announcement

easyJet is closing its Venice base (and Toulouse also) at the end of Winter 24/25. The aircraft are being re-distributed to Milan, Lyon and Nantes so all three of those airports will have extra easyJet capacity in S25.

LBA will be some years away from a base, if even that is on the cards. It's very likely that additional easyJet LBA flying for S25 would be served from one of its European bases and not from another point.

Just thinking outside the box, do EasyJet operate W legs?

They do, but only a handful per day. With easyJet split into UK/EU companies, a UK based easyJet aircraft would only be able to operate UK-EU-LBA-EU-UK (or UK-UK-LBA-UK-UK) and a easyJet EU aircraft would only be able to operate EU-LBA-EU-LBA-EU.
However, nearly all the airports that easyJet operate W-patterns into are already established bases (therefore adding capacity on routes without using based aircraft).

Below gives you an idea of W-patterns that easyJet have operated over the last couple of summers in the UK market (and all apart from BHD are bases):
easyJet UK
LPL
-BFS-LTN-BFS-LPL
LTN-BFS-AGP-LTN
/// BFS-LTN-AGP-BFS
LTN
-BHD-MAN-BHD-LTN
LTN
-GVA-BHX-GVA-LTN (Summer 23)

easyJet Europe
ALC-BRS-AMS-BRS-ALC
AGP-BRS-AMS-BRS-AGP
AGP-LGW-CDG-AGP /// AGP-CDG-LGW-AGP
PMI-BRS-ORY-BRS-PMI

As @Starflyer mentioned, I think LBA will see expansion with flights from a easyJet Europe base first, before we see a LBA base. Next summer the easyJet Europe bases are:
France: CDG, ORY, LYS, NCE, BOD, NTE
Italy: MXP, NAP, (FCO/LIN are potential bases)
Spain: PMI, BCN, AGP, ALC
Portugal: LIS, OPO, FAO
Germany: BER
Netherlands: AMS

Wow - that’s a really thorough response, much appreciated!
It is possible then, just not so likely, thanks!

They also ran some W patterns through Southend (FAO-SEN-AMS) and have some through Southampton this winter (AMS-SOU-ALC). Mostly this achieves mixing long rotations with short ones to drive up utilisation - the FAO aircraft and crew wouldn't have enough time to do a third Faro-UK/German/Swiss rotation but has time to fit in SEN-AMS between FAO-SEN / SEN-FAO legs, and together with a morning roundtrip ex FAO to somewhere and back, gets the aircraft flying six sectors in the day instead of four.

So although they do this, it's not really in big numbers as an overall part of their operation. I wouldn't bank on anything served on this basis being on an LBA fantasy route list, that's for sure.

Huge opportunity for easy tbh in BCN. Would need to be either a W based pattern (CDG/AMS based AC) or a base here in LBA.

Looking on the easyJet website, it appears there is only 23 seats left on the first outbound LBA-CDG, not a bad start if you ask me with still another 13 days to go. Prices seem to be high ish, which indicated they're not being sold a rock bottom either. Hopefully easyJet/LBA will be happy with the results.
Is it coming in empty from CDG or another base?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
