Now the news of easyjet starting flights to Cape verde is out could we see BHX part of expansion this winter…
With Tui operating to both routes on the island I certainly can see this happening as a summer break away however in winter terms.
Very interesting route if it happens

Winter Acl rumours
Main ones:
  • Air India have applied for 11 weekly flights
  • Saudia looks like they have applied for daily flights
  • Qatar looks to have applied 2 daily
  • Emirates looks to have applied for 16 weekly
  • Pakistan international airlines looks to have applied for 4 weekly
  • Pegasus daily flights
  • EasyJet EZY 210 weekly flights 105 in 105 out
By the way I think have got these absolutely wrong .Hopefully someone could explain it properly to me

Emirates has not applied for anything, PIA is 2 weekly, saudia is 4x weekly so your rumours didn’t last

Um - your message prompted me to have a look. Not something i've done before, so i may have got this completely wrong, but doesnt this suggest Qatar double weekly from 31/03?

Not reflected on booking engines to be fair, but maybe that will catch up (if they decide to operate them?). Or is this just to give them flexibility about arrivals e.g. early one day, late the next, etc.? The PowerBI form suggests it was 14/week this year, though...

Just had a look at the ACL reports for the August Peak Week (W/C 11th Aug 2025) and some interesting slot requests....

BHX Slot Requests (Summer 2025)
  • Aer Lingus (EI) = 13x Weekly Departures
  • Air France (AF) = 28x Weekly Departures
  • Air India (AI) = 7x Weekly Departures
  • Aurigny (GR) = 7x Weekly Departures
  • Blue Island (SI) = 8x Weekly Departures
  • City Airlines (VL) = 6x Weekly Departures
  • Corendon Airlines (XC) = 8x Weekly Departures
  • Easyjet (EJU/EZS/EZY) = 136x Weekly Departures
  • Emerald Airlines (EA) = 54x Weekly Departures
  • Emirates (EK) = 16x Weekly Departures
  • Eurowings (EW) = 18x Weekly Departures
  • Freebird Airlines (FH) = 4x Weekly Departures
  • Jet2 (LS) = 248x Weekly Departures
  • KLM (KL) = 33x Weekly Departures
  • Loganair (LM) = 24x Weekly Departures
  • Lufthansa (LH) = 47x Weekly Departures
  • Maersk Cargo (SRR) = 6 x Weekly Departures
  • Pakistan International (PK) = 4x Weekly Departures
  • Pegasus Airlines (PC) = 10x Weekly Departures
  • Qatar Airways (QR) = 14x Weekly Departures
  • Ryanair (FR/RK) = 270x Weekly Departures
  • Saudia (SV) = 4x Weekly Departures
  • Scandinavian (SK) = 9x Weekly Departures
  • Spicejet (SG) = 3x Weekly Departures
  • SunExpress (XQ) = 27x Weekly Departures
  • Swiss International (LX) = 10x Weekly Departures
  • TUI Airways (TOM) = 152x Weekly Departures
  • Turkish Airlines (TK) = 18x Weekly Departures
  • Vueling (VY) = 7x Weekly Departures
  • Wizz Air (W6/W4) = 17x Weekly Departures
  • Zimex Cargo (AZD/XM) = 10x Weekly Departures
Key ones which stick out to me....
  • Air India (AI) = 7x Weekly Departures - Seems ATQ increases continue into the Summer which is great!
  • Easyjet (EJU/EZS/EZY) = 136x Weekly Departures - Only 114x currently on sale suggesting 2x new based a/c to be added?
  • Emirates (EK) = 16x Weekly Departures - never seem than add 2x weekly, maybe cargo movements? added throughout summer!?
  • Pakistan International (PK) = 4x Weekly Departures - God loved a trier, will they even be in business by summer?
  • Pegasus Airlines (PC) = 10x Weekly Departures - Suggests SAW doing daily with AYT at 3x weekly?
  • Qatar Airways (QR) = 14x Weekly Departures - Have done this for the last few seasons, but will they actually increase capacity in summer? Fingers crossed.
  • Ryanair (FR/RK) = 270x Weekly Departures - Again would be BHX's biggest airline but the rarely utilise all their slots. Last time I checked, the had 210 on sale so lets see whats more to come?
  • Saudia (SV) = 4x Weekly Departures - Slots requested for entire summer season. Hopefully a bigger season of 4x weekly in 2025.
  • Spicejet (SG) = 3x Weekly Departures - Another regular bidder than never seems to fil their slots. Will this year be the year?
  • Wizz Air (W6/W4) = 17x Weekly Departures - This was a shock, only 8x departures on sale. Be good to seem them increase....

KLM - 11 weekly departures is that right ?
PIA - never mind a trier their proposed auction collapsed completely this week only attracted one bidder who basically wanted paying to take them on so the government has gone away to think
something else up.

@nwoody2001 that probably means only the one EasyJet frame, as they’ll tend to do 2/3 rotations in one day

Will have to wait and see... 3 rotations a day only works when there are short domestic/euro routes to serve. When destinations like greece/turkey/egypt and canaries are added, they defo can only do 2!

Why does KLM show only 11?
apologies, no idea what i was looking at there... should read 33x weekly departure's :shamefullyembarrassed:

Summer 2025 ACL route changes:-

Gibraltar - Easyjet? :)
Islamabad - PIA not going to happen!!

Dortmund - interesting one?

requested slot list for summer 2025 by airline.

I had added a few extra columns on the right, average number of seats per flight, total number of departures and arrivals, and average number of flights per week and day.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
