I hope so, though VS could not make it a financially sustainable destination. Pakistan tends to be a low yield destination.
Pakistan is a very popular destination, but the popularity occurs in summer season and not any other season. Hence why emirates, Qatar and Turkish seem to have got the upper hand, You also need to remember BA who are still on the LGW-ISB route currently

I don’t think VS ever planned on staying in the Pakistan market long term, their aircraft are too premium heavy. They just had the aircraft spare while they waited for the US to open up again. Norse might well be a better fit but I’ll believe it when I see it.

Not too convincing looking at their website.
Agreed, I hope I’m wrong, but we’ve had so many failed start-ups trying flights to the subcontinent and this looks very much like another one of those. i was expecting PIA to be the operator leasing the planes. But maybe PIA haven’t sorted out their own financial problems.

I also agree and never mind the website I've had a look at HB International on the Company House website @gov.com

They were formed in 2017 by an off the shelf process and have never traded and are registered to an office in Manchester as a dormant company with £100 of assets and one director-a paper airline or worse!
Whoever Norse are talking to an arrangement for wet leasing six 789's with a potential contract for up to 350hr per month per aircraft it surely ain't HB International

Norse have stated the negotiations are with a reputable international airline with a potential contract worth up to $462 million.Note the word negotiations therefore nothing signed and sealed so the supposed time frame is tight to say the least.

Something is obviously up with imminent UK/Pakistan services hopefully including BHX but who and what is the question 🤔

I’ll be honest I do see another international carrier at bhx next summer alongside the ones who are operating Islamabad.

My guess is
Oman air
Gulf air
Etihad airways

I like you ambition, but very little chance of any of these airlines starting a new service next summer from Birmingham, Eithad announced all their new routes the other week, so won't happen, and can't see the other 2 being interested.

And im still not convinced we will have a Islamabad service, PIA possibly twice a week at best, should they be able to put their 777s back together again, and manage to find some rupee's to spend on some new engines for them!! :ROFLMAO:

What I don’t get about PIA is the fact they are allowed to resume flights to Europe not the Uk.
Now Norse are leasing aircraft to another airline in Pakistan to start flights in Jan/Feb 2025.
I’m surprised that nothing is on sale

I think bureaucracy in that part of the world may not help the situation

Brexit for you Ant, as we are no longer part of "Europe" , we are not controlled by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA), so the un-banning of Pakistan carriers flying to the UK is down to the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) only.

I very much doubt Norse will lease any aircraft to an airline that does not exist, ie HB International, who appear to be a "paper" airline, something we don't need at BHX wilth all the other "paper" airline failures we have had at BHX over the last 20 years!!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
