I was hoping the terminal extension would have convinced airlines to expand their offering significantly next Summer.

Yes, but it'll be later in 2025 at least, possibly later, before the enlarged security area is opened, and there will be various construction areas within the terminal, so there will still be a limit to what the airport can handle safely. We won't see the true impact until summer 2026.

Don’t worry we might have lost 1 of the 2 based Boeing 737-MAX8-200 to be replaced by a Boeing 737-800NG l, but the is already quite a bit of growth planned by Ryanair next summer.

• They had 107x weekly rotations during peak summer 2024.
• So far they have 120x weekly (+13) rotations on sale for peak summer 2025.

So it’s not all that bad. With more to be possibly announced if the initial slot request report is anything to go by, I guess we will just have to sit tight and wait & see…

Apparently, Ryanair are to commence flying from Paris Orly from April. I can't help wondering if this will, eventually, lead to a transfer of services from Beauvais to Orly, which is nearer to Paris itself and the starting point for many flights to the French Caribbean too.

From an LBA perspective, Ryanair to Orly in competition with Jet2 and/or easyJet to CDG would be interesting, if unlikely.

Meanwhile it was planned both Chania & Perpignan wouldn’t restart until May whilst Limoges restarts in June.

Also the Warsaw Modlin route looks to have been taken off sale completely. Maybe leaving it to Wizz Air.

No it won’t actually.

If you look back on this thread you’ll see that Ryanair have done this for past 3+ years or so where we’ve dropped to 2x based aircraft instead of 3x during April & May so it’s was to be expected I suppose.

Yes it’s definitely bad to see Warsaw go, but the same thing happened last year and it was eventually reinstated once MOL had got his new deal with the Polish Airport owners.

Look at it another way! It also means for 2 months they are using less of the sumner night slot Quota too. So everyone all around is happy…

Ryanair certainly do now help put the LBA winter pax numbers up. And with Jet2 extending seasons and operating Xmas Market breaks it certainly makes things look much healthier during the traditionally quieter winter season. It also probably proves that these airlines are not actually overly concerned about the LBA winter weather. The future is looking bright - so let's hope the weather stays that way too

Yes could not help notice the FR 05.45 departures out of ALC on a thur and sat, done it a few times, the joy!!
Regarding LBA weather the conditions have been kind to us so far this winter with just 2 snow days and a gale force wind wkend, and that was straight down R32!
