Interested to see if Global actually 'take off'? If so, we could see their A380 parked alongside Emirates on Pier 2?

Yes, hopefully but I can’t see it lasting into the long term.
Maybe Qatar or Etihad could also bring in a A380 on one on their services in the future, after all there are 3 stands on pier 2 which are A380 capable.

except global's plan does not involve running flights from MAN, they plan to run flights from LGW - not that i ever think they will get to the point of actually running scheduled flight under their own aoc.

What else are you going to do on a bank holiday aside from assemble all the common CGI showing the various configurations from the past decade of the final design of T2X ?!

I think #1 is still achievable in the future? its just if we will be around to see it :)
Anything’s possible with funding. But seriously, nothing has been built that’s in the way of the original plan. Although I doubt we’ll see 4 piers unless integrated into a T1 replacement should such a thing be built.

Do we know when cargo sheds demolition starts to make way for new remotes? How many and what category will they be? Assuming will take a few years to complete? When do we think Pier 3 work might commence? I personally think in about 10 years time they might consider it? The disruption and loss of legacy stands will be immense! Pier 4 might come circa 20 years time!!

Interesting update from someone in the know:

T3
- Escape to close 9/6 to continue works on the new upper area sports bar
- Temp lounge for BA only, in the now empty ex bmi lounge beneath security.
- *rumour* that T3 escape may be replaced with lounge capacity on the current T1 lounge annexe, possibly the emirates space once vacated later this year.
- Current security hall to close and become the entrance from T1 security / check-in to the T3 departures area
- Current check in will be knocked through to airside and the current landside escalators etc removed to create a bigger airside area and "improve" retail.
- medium term plan to identify and isolate / replace all services currently dependant on T1 infrastructure AND those under the road preventing T3 expansion to the east.
- Longer term plan to create new LoCo style check-in and Security extension (I'm thinking corrugated shed but hope to be proved wrong) to allow T1 to fully close.

T2
- New "Airline Invitation" lounge to open to serve Qatar, BA and Virgin with a more premium experience but operated by MAG. (This *might* be a reconfiguration of the current 1903 OR in the original VS lounge location.)

1903 Lounge - this brand is being retired entirely - T2 escape likely (but not confirmed) to expand into this space to increase escape capacity.

I bet the sports bar will be similar to Box bar that they have in Manchester and Leeds. fits the market given all the Ryanair traffic. Will be interesting to see what they do with the domestic gates 16,17,18,141,142,143 when BA leaves. I landed at midnight with Ryanair used stand 17 but with busses even the ground staff said it wasn't ideal due to all the ground equipment stored round 17 & 18.

I’ll be interested in what they do with inbound PX given the current domestic gates bypass immigration.

in t2? they have already announced that and the system is operating atm.

for all cta arrivals (currently i think just aurigny in t2, but obviously will include ba in due course) they take biometrics at the exit from the jetbridge, then you walk with all arrivals to immigration, and there is a bypass channel to the left of immigration where cta arrivals are siphoned, and after another biometric check (i.e. matching with the first one), and you then bypass immigration and in to the baggage hall. bussed cta arrivals will also go thro the same on entering the terminal.

I have a travel agent booking on Loganair in July. At the time of booking it said T3. I've just checked the travel agent website manage booking and it now says Terminal 2. I've also looked at MMB on the Loganair website and it says T2
The travel agent site has reverted to saying T3. Loganair MMB now says Manchester without any Terminal number. Lognair chat says check with us nearer the time.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
