Indeed and June poor too for LHR & MAG airports :)
Market share will have increased from 4.4%

Market share will have increased from 4.4%
Spot on tompo. Market share is the big stat. Been going to up from 4.2 to 4.4 over the last year or so.

As for the May growth outstripping others, we did lag behind initially post COVID....remember how Bristol nearly caught up. So it could be catch up. Time will tell.

Nonetheless, some impressive numbers. Just hope the powers that be start taking some bold decisions on the capacity and the terminals......and get rid of that disgusting tent.

....and find somewhere to lay more concrete for stands

Jeddah (Saudi) load factor of only 49%, is this an error by the CAA, or are the passenger numbers dropping, bit concerning, especially if PIA do start later this year?

I think you are correct with the Saudi Load... though i calculate the LF as a whopping 51% rather than 49%...

I can see why you might be concerned, but believe it or not, that's a whopping 18.6% increase on May'24 when there was a Load Factor of 39%! May is always a low season for travel to the Middle east as it marks the end of Eid and then followed by Hajj. Whilst the likes of EK and QR have a significant amount of transiting passengers not bothered by the Islam calendar, i suspect with a much smaller route network, SV is much more impacted...

as for SV Loads 2024 vs 2025, this is it do far:

to be expected re: Amritsar, May was when conflict broke out with India and Pakistan....

As for SV Loads 2024 vs 2025, this is how we are doing so far, pretty damn good when no increase in frequency:

to be expected re: Amritsar, May was when conflict broke out with India and Pakistan....

Eid moves each year. This year the two Eids were in late March and early June. They are normally marked by increased passenger traffic.

Well be that as it "may" but all Middle east carries see big passenger decreases travelling between the UK which is not experienced to the same extreme for other destinations from the UK at that time...

Alas, low pax levels on a middle-east carrier in May from any airport in the UK is pretty standard....

I appreciate that others have already provided statistics for May, however I trust you will forgive me producing my own variant.

Screenshot-2586.png

Screenshot-2587.png

Size of UK Airports - comparing 12m rolling pax totals - May 25 v May 15

LHR – up 13.9%

LGW – up 11.7%

MAN – up 40.5%

STN – up 39.9%

LTN – up 57.1%

EDI – up 54.3%

BHX- up 32.9%

BRS – up 66.5%

GLA – up 0.9%

BFS – up 64.9%

LPL – up 30.1%

EMA – down 12.5%

LBA – up 29.5%
So BHX mid table then. More work to do!.
EMA in the relegation zone! .
Significant that EasyJet bases show healthy increases. We should benefit further in the next few years.

Need that 3rd daily Emirates Karl😝

All seriousness we need a second Qatar daily
Agree on the Qatar....however with EK, loads taken over a period of time need to be looked at, not just these few holiday weeks. Consistently high loads will trigger a 3rd daily and/or competition from another carrier. A second daily QR might just do the trick.

Outbound EK loads for last two weeks are full
Saudi last two flights outbounds full

But they were not as good before the kids holidays let hope they stay full till early September and beyond

Qatar are happy always being full and I cannot see tham expanding soon as they are pillingt capacity into LHR / MAN so absorbing all our overspill.

Etihad have never shown an interest in BHX

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
