7 figure savings by using Swissport, I've heard
Just hope Swissport get sufficient equipment and staff to do it then. Their record at LBA hasn't been great at times in snowy weather, so with 16 additional based aircraft to deal with, they will need to up their game by a considerable margin. Have they bought the Jet2 de-icing equipment at LBA?

Yes they're taking ownership of the 3 Jet2 rigs. Rumours that part of the deal involved Jet2's rigs remaining at LBA rather than being distributed elsewhere. They've been notoriously temperamental though.

Jet2 Summer 2027 appears to be on sale, as expected and very generic, MAN BHX EDI STN get new routes..

All these new routes are all served and have been served continually from
LBA. Other bases they’ve had them and had them cut. Bergerac, Jersey, Almeria. Jersey has been a constant on the jet2 LBA route map, whilst in MAN it lasted half a season before disappearing. Until now.

Be nice for LBA to gain some new Greek routes which are available from other airports. Hopefully some more to come. Even RAK for summer would be a good one

Which will make me now book FR to FAO everytime…not a lover of the old unreliable birds….

Weren't two due to be retired this winter? Obviously not FK or FM as they are currently in Ireland having C checks. Then another 1 retired next winter. And the final 4 in winter 2027/8.

Looks like some will be touching 30 years old by the time they are retired.
According to AI…Retirement: The 737-300s are scheduled to be phased out by winter 2027/2028, replaced by new Airbus A321neo aircraft.
Think we will get the older 800’s rather than the A321neo’s.

With the A321NEO been quieter and fitting in with the night quoter movement with reduced noise the A321NEO's will be in in LBA providing the airport / council get the revised night movement across the line. "Older" B737-800's will only add to the movement quota and if it gets across the line, the airport will be for sure encouraging Ryanair to use MAX's and Jet2 to use the NEO's.
That's still an upgrade and increase in capacity though so still positive. However depending on the night flying adjustment application, NEOs may need to make an appearance

Correct. Though it's now 6 years since the last 757 operated for Jet2 out of LBA members need to remember that they were full, day in day out, out of LBA. LBA market can sustain this it just Jet2 consolidated the B757 in MAN then took the opportunity to expand the A321 fleet out of ex Monarch / Thomas Cook bases. I believe EDI and GLA have night movements similar to what LBA want but also longer distance so fuel saving will be incredible. Let's say similar fuel burn to the B737-800 with 33 extra seats to sell / make money off. Of course Jet2 want them in EDI and GLA.
And STN for next year must all be about market growth without adding further aircraft into STN.

The B737-300 will be replaced with the B737-800,The B737-800 that displaces the B737-300 will be replaced with the A321NEO. Providing of course the council get the night jet movement things over the line.

Every time Jet2 put on new flights from MAN it must take some traffic from Leeds.

As much as we would like to see the NEOs at Leeds, LBA is an engineering base for them so it would make more sense to keep the 737s at Leeds wouldn't it?
MAN is an engineering base for the 737-800 also. It’s more then doable should it be required.

Anyone spotted anything interesting in the S27 release or is it a carbon copy?

Can’t believe some of posts on here saying Jet2 are not growing at LBA. Did everyone forget we got an additional based Boeing 737-800 this year?
Ok it did a fair few w-legs this summer, but I was on the understanding as it was reported on here that this aircraft would be fully utilised out of LBA next summer 2026.

If we don’t see the A321’s for a while, I’ll still happily take more 737-800’s if it means we see more growth and the gradual withdrawal of the ageing 737-300’s

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
