“A drunk Jet2 passenger who proposed to a flight attendant was booted off a plane after forcing a u-turn” This happened in August, on a flight from LBA to Alicante and happened shortly after take off causing the flight to return to LBA. The man pleaded guilty and faces a possible custodial sentence at Crown Court later this month. Given that he was absolutely paralytic it must have been pretty obvious he was in no fit condition to fly. Why oh why are these idiots not stopped from flying, it’s much easier to deal with them on the ground than in the air.

For the Classic Boeing 737-300 Followers G-GDFK has not so long ago departed out to Shannon as EXS38F for its C-Check whilst its sister G-GDFM went to Dublin on Tuesday for it's C-Check.

So the are only the 5+ Boeing 737-300's currently in active service all based at Leeds. G-GDFG, G-GDFL, G-GDFN, G-GDFO & G-GDFT.

Make that 4 serviceable B733's, G-GDFT has now gone tech in Almeria. B738, G-JZHJ has positioned out as EXS42A to pick up the returning pax.
And these 300’s are not leaving the fleet until 2027?
The A321’s are not suited to LBA’s runway so we will get the old 800’s no doubt.
I know it's a long way off but what happens when all the 800’s are phased out, what then?

Not true. The A321 is generally fine on LBAs runway. We've had plenty of them with Wizz and other airlines over the years snd if the rumours are correct we could have them soon operating to ISB. We've been told the issue is that Jet2 own, rather than lease their engines and as I understand it, operate them slightly de- tuned (for want of a better word) to maximise durability, which would restrict their use at LBA to shorter routes when fully loaded. Thst might apply too at BRS. But its a Jet2 operational choice, nothing to do with the A321 per se.

At the recent ACC, the LBA CEO did say that the Jet2 A321s 'are coming' but he stopped short of saying when.

Personally, I wonder if the A320 family of aircraft are not as capable in crosswinds though? On Friday evening, the Wizz A320, Easyjet A320 and Easyjet A319 all diverted whilst the 737s were landing and its not the first time that's happened. It might be airline restrictions though, coupled with pilot unfamiliarity or a combination of all these things.

It never stopped at IST it was Trabzon but have been told it will be as I said before
I didn't say it was non stop to ISB. Nevertheless, the plan is an A321NEO from LBA to Istanbul then on to Islamabad. Same ftom MAN. The point I was making is that the A321 is perfectly capable of operating from LBA.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
