All the airworthy Jetstreams under took a short flight from Humberside last week, could be a test flight for potential new owners
They’ve been flying once a month to keep them ready. Insurance purposes I believe.

Not for nothing is the owner known as Tricky Dicky
Understand he wasn’t too happy when a credible investor came along to scoop it all up. Heard he thought he’d get it all dirt cheap and let his son start his own airline. Clearly not to be.

Oooh does that mean it's was all part of his intended debt removal plan that has backfired? Go into adminstration, remove debts and start again? Just maybe the artful dodger has finally got his come uppance

Still rumours going around that they have been bought from the Administrators. Still not clear as by who although Ecojet have been mentioned. Also not clear how much of the old company's debt they will have to repay. Some suggestions saying the purchase itself is for a very nominal fee with the rest going towards the CVA or whatever official technicalities apply in these scenarios. Total 6m purchase price is what I have heard. They really should have their own soap opera!

The rumour that people might like the most though is that RL had hoped nobody would buy it so he’d be able to re-acquire it through some kind of apparatus (loophole?). Rumours suggest the anger in the Louth area was palpable 😉

I won’t pretend to know what’s actually going on because the people I knew there have thankfully all managed to get jobs in other airlines. I also hear that the commercial director has thankfully not moved into another aviation post! Meanwhile RL seems to be in a position to retire now so probably won’t have any more dealings in the airline business. He does have the next generation of Lakes though, and one rumour was one of his sons, who I understand is an intelligent chap, was looking to run with it. Appears that is not to be.

Will it be EcoJet? Will they get anywhere with it? Who knows, but it would be nice to see some jobs come back to Humberside so long as they have credible backing and a workable plan.

Insolvency specialists handling the collapse of Eastern Airways are hopeful the carrier can live on, at least in some form, through a rescue of sister company Air Kilroe, which held the carrier’s fleet and air operator’s certificate (AOC), among other assets.

Both companies ceased trading in late October, blaming the loss of a contract with KLM Cityhopper in July last year for unsustainable losses.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
