Birmingham: EasyJet Flights, New Routes & Base Updates

Use this prefix for new threads for Birmingham Airport
Google AI and chatGPT did its magic earlier and says that new routes will be Budapest and Salzburg

To be honest I agree with that as its routes that will have competition and great demand

Other routes would be ideal are Madrid and Copenhagen

The only issue with that is that RYR serves both routes SZG and BUD. EZY and RYR tend not to go head to head on lower frequency routes (i,e. not the high volume routes such as ALC or PMI). At BUD RYR is dominant. At SZG there is no repetition of routes between the two airlines.

Just to point out easyjet served Salzburg in 2022 I believe and wizz air have just axed Budapest so which leaves for 6 weekly flights to the Hungarian capital.

I know bhx wants to build a sustainable city tourism industry

Salzburg loads where terrible hence why they haven’t operated it since.

Yes true enough. BHX already has FR and EXS on BUD, as at MAN, where, I believe, EZY dropped BUD. As BHX492 points out, SZG is not as big a market as it was (more flights to INN). I think EZY will go elsewhere from BHX.

Didn’t they fly to Lyon at some point and then drop it? Would be nice to see it back.

I would most like to see Lyon, Basel and Hamburg, and some of the old Flybe destinations like La Rochelle and Biarritz…

but knowing our luck we’ll probably get Athens, Krakow, Turin, Cape Verde, Croatia, and Venice…

Lyon loads were poor

For winter?
No Ant, REU, IBZ, BJV, MAH and CHQ are summer only routes.
So many other gateways EasyJet could choose that are low hanging fruit...ZRH being one of them.
My mates have been from LTN to ZRH three times already this year and twice more already booked. Swiss are just so godamn expensive

Suprised Zurich isn’t already served from Bhx especially with Swiss going 5 weekly this winter.

Any other thoughts for the winter Karl?

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
