I only commented as there have been a few similar posts recently, so I just wanted to clarify what I'd checked prior to my earlier reply. Please don't worry, nobody is in bother at all! I was simply sharing what I knew from my end. Your insights and detailed analysis are always a massive asset to the board, so please do keep them coming..

Hi there all, where Birmingham airports situation, Birmingham Airport won't be high on the list of all airlines, when deciding where there business will go to. Not knowing what the process is for airports or airlines to start talking business, me personally, as in a recent post I posted in the route development team. I first looked and checked Heathrow, as an example, too see as to what airlines and destinations, against Birmingham Airport, this showed me at least 35 destinations that weren't been served from Birmingham Airport, then I checked each destinations population, then calculated what 5 or 10 percent of each of there population was, this then showed me what a basic amount of passenger numbers added to Birmingham Airport over 12 months, which was quite a very healthy increase on passenger numbers. Birmingham Airport other issue problem is advertising and promoting their destinations, also travel agents get paid commission based on which better airport they use, rather than other sources, this doesn't help.

As a enthusiast who worked around but not in the aviation world I'd just like to say the information you provide is both accurate and informative while respecting the requirements of confidentiality required as pointed out repeatedly by other knowledgeable members.

Unfortunately I think it’s the constant repetitive bombardment that is spoiling the enjoyment for many on here and perhaps actually driving members away. Many of the regular contributors seem to post less frequently than before while others have disappeared completely. Granted there hasn’t been much to talk about lately but this trend appears to have been going on for a good while now.

Sadly the ignore function doesn’t work when reading the forums signed out so even when you try to block the ‘Groundhog Day’ posts some are still unescapable. Like you say enthusiasm should be encouraged but there are limits.

No Idea where is is from? But these aren't increases from what i can see. If there are increases, these increases are not happening in the Winter February Peak... in fact as this currently stand, EZY are down 1x flight a week in the Winter Peak in Feb 2027 compared to Feb 2026.

We have 5 weekly bergamo with Ryanair

Easyjet December now fully utilised with 6 units, all CDG moving to BHX based as are some AMS.
January not so busy.
But as it stands I would not expect much change now for W26/27

Just a quick note that EasyJet have today agreed a deal to sell the business to American investment group Castlelake. I have posted initial information on the EasyJet forum of the Global airline and intelligence part of the forum for those interested.

easyJet is this week celebrating carrying over ten million passengers to and from Birmingham Airport.

To mark the occasion, easyJet surprised two lucky travellers at Birmingham Airport, Cathy Stacey and Fouad Wardi who were flying to Marrakesh, with a pair of return flights to anywhere on easyJet’s network.

easyJet began operations at Birmingham Airport in 2007, flying its first customers from Birmingham to Geneva and in 2024 easyJet launched a base at Birmingham Airport, supporting jobs, creativity and choice for customers in the midlands.

Since then the airline’s presence in the region has gone from strength to strength, having tripled the number of destinations on its network, now offering 45 routes across Europe and North Africa, and operate its largest ever operation this summer.

This summer, the airline has also welcomed a sixth aircraft to the base, enabling the airline to offer customers in the Midlands even more choice for flights and holidays across Europe and North Africa, including a new route and package holidays to Copenhagen in Denmark this winter, with great value fares starting from £31.99*

easyJet holidays began offering package holidays from Birmingham Airport when easyJet launched its base in March 2024. Now, the tour operator offers thousands of package holidays from Birmingham to destinations across Europe and North Africa.
