As seen as the TTG has made it public, I can reveal that it is indeed Santa Clara, and will operate every Tuesday from May 2017.

Will also launch Olbia every Saturday.

Thomson's first B787-9 is due to arrive at Manchester on 28th June.

How many based 787s does that make? What are their plans for the aircraft?

The first flight of G-TUIJ B787-9 will be on 1st July operating MAN-AGP-MAN before it heads down to Gatwick to begin long haul ops from there.

B789 G-TUIJ will be MAN based until 15th July.

Will operate Montego Bay on 6th and will then operate on B787 routes from MAN until 15th before heading down to Gatwick.

An interesting ad from Thomson Holidays stating that they have partnered with a number of airlines to offer city break and long haul holidays. Some of the destinations include:

Hong Kong
Las Vegas
New York
Cape Town
Bangkok
Miami
Kuala Lumpur

Obviously not strictly a MAN issue, but a tie up with TCX and Emirates would cover these destinations quite nicely. How likely that it I don't know.

Thomson will not be redeem it's Dubai packages next winter from any UK bases due to poor sales.

The new Cuba route from Manchester will be year round however.

New route to La Romana next winter to tie in with a cruise.

Shame the new Vietnam route is only from LGW, Vietnam is one destination I would love to see on the departure boards but about 1% chance of seeing it as a scheduled route.

Yes, Vietnam would be a great one. Perhaps, depending on the success at LGW, it may come to MAN?
What airport in Vietnam?

Probably the best chance outside of a TCX or Norwegian is as a transit route to the USA, but I think VN either are or shortly to begin non stop routes so unlikely.

It is becoming a bigger tourist spot, but it would be hard to compete with the MEB3 and Turkish (even now).

La Romana now confirmed Wednesday's next winter.

Goa also increases to 2 weekly a few months, with flights on Thu and Fri.

Santa Clara is a continuation route also. Overall it's an increase but not by much due to Dubai not returning.

Thomson to end its Mauritius flights next winter.

Whether this is due to Thomas Cook starting their own flights, who knows. One would have hoped that if TCX offered the alternate week to Thomson, then 1 weekly overall could have been maintained.

The only ray of hope is that MAN-MRU will continue to be offered, and have GDS and thus more visibility with TCX being a scheduled carrier.

Two departures to New Orleans (MSY) on the MAN departure boards for tomorrow. Would be great to see this as a scheduled destination with TOM.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
