There must be people out there wanting to book their flights who are truly getting fed up !!!

Especially considering from the end of April they'll have the point to point traffic to themselves. Iceland is becoming an evermore popular holiday destination itself. I'm looking at going away at the end of April for a couple of days and at the moment i can't consider Iceland because they haven't loaded any flights and there is no doubt many more like me who might choose somewhere else instead because they have no options of flights.

Wow finally on sale for July onwards. Twice a week Sunday and Wednesday. Looks like it's having a break beforehand !! Any good news they are staying

Yeah there are prices loaded up from June on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday but when you click on them it says 'invalid date'. Maybe they've not loaded them properly yet?

Guessing the website hasn't been updated yet then. Though i was looking at prices in March and they are at least £90 cheaper than Easyjet.

Its good to see wow commited for another series of flights. Shame about the gap,but that might be ok seeing the route is late in being announced. only thing they want to do now is advertise a lot more then perhaps there will be no gaps in the service.

It's now bookable on the WOW website (it wasn't last night when I looked). On point to point BRS-KEF winter seems to be better than summer (easyJet had higher frequency in winter when they operated year-round).

Last year the easyJet timetable originally showed it coming off in April for the summer break but it was then extended to the second week in June. This year easyJet finishes at the end of April.

I wonder if there was a bit of cat and mouse with WOW wondering whether easyJet would extend into June again and eventually deciding they could wait no longer so decided to wait until mid June before resuming themselves.

Or they only see BRS as a seasonal route for American tourists because I would've thought that if they were looking at BRS originating transatlantic traffic they would be all year round or start at the end of March?

It's possible but if that is the case they would have known months ago and could have announced the summer schedule starting in mid June a long time ago. As it is they may have lost some bookings next summer already by the delayed announcement.

It does seem a strange way to do things as im sure they have lost a lot of passengers and also some goodwill. As they are focusing at a totally different market to Easyjet ( onward connections rather than point to point ) im surprised there is not enough of market for them to continue year round . They do seem to be afraid of Easyjet !

Or another possibility is that they are short of aircraft and don't get any until June or short of pilots and crew or both! They've only been going a couple of years and have expanded quickly and pilots especially don't grow on trees. Also considering they operate larger aircraft than Easyjet a lot of the time then the point 2 point traffic is handy to fill the aircraft up.

Airline to relaunch service with brand new aircraft in June

WOW air, the ultra-low-cost transatlantic airline from Iceland, has announced that it will continue its service from Bristol to Iceland and beyond to the US and Canada in June due to the ongoing success of the route.

Though the route was originally planned to cease operations on 24 March 2017, the airline will recommence flights on 14 June 2017 with five new aircraft that will be put into service on the route.

Skúli Mogensen, founder and CEO of WOW air says, “We’re very happy to announce that we will be continuing to bring super low airfare to those in South West England and Wales this summer. We look forward to working closely with Bristol Airport to drive future expansion, as it continues to raise its international profile.”

Fares from Bristol to Iceland will start from just £37.99*, while Bristol to North American & Canadian destinations will be just £139.99 and long-haul fares to California from just £149.99* - all available to book now.

The new schedule from 14 June to 27 October 2017 will be as follows:
WW831 BRS – KEF 10:25 – 13:30 UTC Wed – Fri – Sun

I'm not sure how I feel about that press release. At one point it didn't seem that exude confidence in the route plus a fair few people have been asking wow for months about the route whilst they were planning to cease it

Maybe a last ditch deal by the airport rescued it? Because losing links to North America wouldn't look good for BRS.
Surely if they had to wait for new aircraft in June then they could've put a statement out to that effect. Also they mention Wales but I honestly don't think they advertise in Wales but I may be wrong.

the way I read news release there was problems with shortage of aircraft and I recon they were not going to do a service from brs,not this summer 2017. looking at it they stretched their self with shortage of air frames and brs their newest route dropped rather than delay a new service from other airports.

A320 or A321. Runway too short for A333

I wasn't expecting A330 but your wrong about the runway Aer Lingus and BH air have operated them from Bristol in the recent past
