Hopefully we will see Innsbruck and/or Salzburg appear for the winter.

Considering the CEO mentioned charters it will be interesting to see what turns at CWL to fill the gaps they have. Part of me also wonders if there are any winter sun routes that BE could also target as well? But Innsbruck or Salzburg would offer more variety for the ski routes and would introduce a new country to CWL.

Did Flybe sell any seats to ski tour operators in the winter just ended on the Geneva and Chambery routes? I ask because the load factors on these routes were surprisingly disappointing (to me anyway) in January and February - see posts 483 and 534 within this thread.

If there were no tour operator sales or only a small number it does point to the desirability of getting more ski operators for these routes and any new ski routes that might be considered.

Honestly not sure. I do know there flights on sale for Jan and Feb on Iglu ski website for GVA but i don't know who else sells on the flights.

Its a strange one that ski flights over the years have never done very well,hence flights pulled. GOING the other way cruise flights have done well out of cwl. Cant work that one out.

I wonder if it's because cruises are very similar to beach holidays. A cruise ship is just a floating hotel. It has a pool and bars and you can sunbathe as much as you want. When i went on a med one about 2 years and there was a lot of us welsh on the ship! It may be that the demographic of the area suits cruises more than ski holidays.

Chambery is now on sale! 1 weekly on a Saturday starting 16th December.
Also i saw a post on another forum which quoted a reply to a tweet about the LCY route. It may not have been dropped and may return. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole schedule gets redone eventually!

Chambery is a ski route,saturday is change over day for the skiers.It starts about the same time at other airports in uk as well. Its always tends to have a longer season of ski ops into. In the summer season airline ops into chambery is very quiet,as most airlines operate into zrh or gva.

FCO is now on sale on Tuesday's for the winter so is now 2 weekly. Strangely though the price is very expensive as if Flybe are trying to discourage people from booking it.

That's a better frequency. Normally, when ticket prices are high, it's an indication that the demand is high of course. Can't think it would be that as the additional day has only just been put on sale and that far ahead is extremely unlikely to see flights booked to that extent.

Perhaps they believe that people will book at these prices.

Only price available at the moment is All in at £250 one way. I honestly can't see why they would'nt put the other prices on sale unless they could still change it at a later date.

The All in tickets are fully changeable including fare difference.
I did see a reply to a tweet on another forum about LCY and they said that this was only phase 1 of winter 2017/18 and phase 2 was yet to come. So maybe the FCO timings or days will change again?

Flybe announces first phase of winter 2017/18 plus extra flights on popular routes
Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has announced the first phase of its 2017/18 Winter programme from Cardiff Airport, featuring 14 routes offering a choice of up to 68 flights a week and including a choice of ski and winter sun routes. The highlights of the winter schedule include an increase in the number of flights to Jersey due to customer demand following an uplift in visitors from the Channel Islands to Wales.

I saw a few comments yesterday on Facebook about BE Rome flights and it seems they are doing quite well obviously we won't know until the figures come out but posters have commented that the loads seem to be vary between 85 and 100 pax. Also Verona seems to be doing quite well as well.
I'm wondering if both services keep doing quite well then next year Rome could be 3 weekly and maybe Verona as well or if good numbers could attract Ryanair to operate Rome as well.

Can't see why it would. There are 9 in the fleet and even when it goes to 6 after November swapping one for a 175 might not be such a bad idea especially for the German routes.

South Wales Aviation Group is showing them both landed at CWL ahead of schedule. Is this one of those FR24 glitches?

Would SWS have the necessary fire cover etc at short notice that time of day and could it handle an E190 anyway?

That's a FR24 Classic Glitch TLY.

You could get a Dash 8 in and out of there in theory, no chance of an E190 and as you say the airfield is never a diversionary airport anyway due to lack of fire CAT and handling/fueling facilities of this nature. It's a sad old sight seeing SWS in its run-down form that it now is, but this part of the world will only ever be able to support 1 airport and that's CWL.

South Wales Aviation Group is showing them both landed at CWL ahead of schedule. Is this one of those FR24 glitches?

Would SWS have the necessary fire cover etc at short notice that time of day and could it handle an E190 anyway?

Its a glitch. For some reason FR24 now and then diverts a Flybe into St Athan and now Swansea. I can kind of understand St Athan as its quite close but not SWS. Though I think there was something in the press last year about one of the Ospreys board trying to get SWS up and running again and trying to attract Flybe but sadly for Swansea that is just a pipe dream.
