If they were going to do it i'd have thought they would've put it onsale by now? Maybe a better chance in 2021. I know they are a longshot but i wonder if they could persuade Loganair to operate it?

If Loganair did the route it would be on behalf of a tour operator. Inghams would probably be the most likely. They used bmi regional to operate for them from BRS to VRN for a number of years, probably using the very same aircraft now flown by Loganair. Inghams now seem to take seats on TUI's BRS-VRN operated by Neos (B738), with which bmi regional's Inghams flight ran alongside for a few years.

It'll be a shame to lose the route but hopefully they can persuade TUI to operate it in 2021 whether using their own metal or someone like Volotea.

According to a poster elsewhere this week's Flybe announcement relates to the first phase of their summer 2020 programme, so if that is correct there might be more to come including perhaps at CWL.

Would be nice if they added extra flights to Belfast and Paris both were 11 weekly in the summer and now only 7 weekly each. Also would be nice if Edinburgh was 4 daily on certain day's. I'll be expecting anything though as I doubt Cardiff is exactly a priority for them.

Arrived in Paris after a good flight with Flybe! I was lucky in having the seat next to me free so had a comfortable flight with decent legroom.
The airport was really really quiet this morning when I got there around 7am but it is winter.
Load wise I'd say that the aircraft was about 80 to 85 percent full with quite a few onward connecting including what looked like a refereeing team from the WRU going to European game in the south of France I think.

Just seen a post on a Facebook page that someone went to book a flight to Paris in July for 2 adults and 4 kids with Flybe from Cardiff and was quoted £1361 while Easyjet was £251. Although there's vast capacity difference between the two airlines on what they're offering prices like that are just going to kill Cardiff as people will once again think it's too expensive and stop using the airport.
Problem is for the airport its essentially Flybe or lose the route as there's no other airlines that'll be interested.

I did a quick search and the prices for both are about right. The prices for Flybe are much more expensive varying between £70 one way to £116 while Easyjet prices seem to be varying between £30 one way to £70 one way and that is before checked bags and such are added. I think it shows the difference between the 2 airlines on the route. Problem is that Flybe filling a daily flight and making a good profit on the route doesn't get the headlines, high pricing and people being forced to fly from Bristol does.

There are decent prices to be had with easyJet next summer on the CDG route but you would expect that at this distance from the departure date. The airline's sophisticated price-management algorithms use a number of parameters to match demand with availability, and the CDG route is one where prices invariably rise steeply as the departure date approaches.

Even so there can be dates quite close to the departure date that buck the trend with, for example, the week after next still offering some departures at less than £30 per sector.

Joe Public doesn't give a fig about Flybe (or any other airline) making a profit on a route. Headlines about that would be more likely to lead to complaints about profiteering and demands for lower fares, than understanding or even congratulation. As with any commodity prices mainly reflect supply and demand.

i read on another blog flybes flights are so never on time or cancelled their new strategy is to charge higher fares to help cover the cost of EU compensation as the airline allegedly burning through money like fun as a result. Take of that what you will.

I think elsewhere that it was mentioned that this may only be phase 1 of their release? If so hopefully the airport can get more capacity out of them for Paris as the demand is there.

It does when you pick the lowest fare at £30.

It looks like the children are discounted to roughly £5 one way.

Looking at next July the cheapest fare per sector is £20.99 and the dearest £80.90 on the Bristol-Paris CDG route. That's based on an adult flying alone.

Basing a test purchase on the cheapest price both ways (£20.99 BRS-CDG and £24.90 CDG-BRS) the total fare for 2 adults and four children aged 2-15 is £223.34, broken down as:

BRS-CDG
2 adults at £20.99
4 children at £7.99*

CDG-BRS
2 adults at £24.90
4 children at £24.90

* I redid the booking ten minutes later and the child fare on BRS-CDG had risen to £8.99 per child which shows how dynamic the system is.

This relates to departing BRS at 1935 on Sunday 5 July and returning from CDG at 1015 on Wednesday 15 July. There were a small number of other date combinations that showed the lowest fares in each direction but I haven't done a complete test booking with those to establish the total for the group of six people.
