Sadly with 4 different parties in office in the 4 countries COVID has become little more than a political scoring of points now and the only people that are going to lose is the general public.

Then you'd have to take away health from the devolved adminstrations.
Not necessarily per se, but with something like this deadly virus it's nonsensical that four separate governments are doing their own thing. Politicians never foresaw a situation like this. Had they done so provision could have been made in law for the UK government to assume primacy in such a situation.

Seeing that next week flights are beginning to resume from Monday is the start of the very long road back to recovery for CWL.

I'm surprised to see Eastern on the departure board as I thought that they weren't starting to the 13th

South Wales travel agents Tailor Made Travel, have set up an admin office in Glasgow, with a view to recruiting homeworkers, they are obviously intent on expanding the business.

Does anybody know if anything in the airport is open when you get there ?
"
All shops at the Airport are currently closed until further notice. Vending machines are available throughout the terminal to purchase drinks, snacks and items of PPE such as sanitzer and face masks.

Take-away food and drink is available to purchase from our '51° Bwyd Bites' Cafe in Departures. Choose from a range of hot and cold food and beverages. View menu.

Please note that water-refill stations are currently unavailable."

Welsh Government doesn’t have the powers to implement spot checks on travellers

Doesn’t make things clear. He need to sign-up with England about relaxing the 14 days quarantine on Friday if not then say not.

Quarantine is due to health issues which is a devolved matter.

The first minister i’ve noticed quite likes to pass responsibilities off to others in his press conferences. if it’s not the fault of the UK Parliament it’s usually the fault of local councils.

It seems this was something Deb Bowen-Rees had planned some time ago.

I have no personal knowledge of her but from my distant vantage point she always came across as a level-headed and conscientious CEO, and before that MD, and when I listened to her giving evidence to the various parliamentary committees (both Westminster and Senedd) she always spoke a lot of sense in my opinion.

Her tenure coincided with an awkward period for the airport as it fought to regain lost ground under government ownership following the major recession of the late 'noughties'. The fact that it was successful in clawing back much of the lost passenger traffic must be due to her efforts in no small part. The new interim CEO might find his incumbency throws up even greater challenges with the effects of Covid-19 to be overcome. His knowledge of CWL matters must be second to none given the length of time he has worked at the airport in senior positions. Everyone will wish him well.

So it it will be a complete change at the top with a new airport company chairman and a new interim CEO.

It’s sad (but not unsurprising) that Deb has chosen to leave and I wish her well. I do hope they look outside for some fresh blood, energy and impetus for a new CEO though.

It will be interesting to see who they bring in to replace her.
Whoever it is will have a difficult job on their hands in rebuilding the airports route network and restoring airlines faith in the airport especially on the connecting routes side.
It'll be sad to see Debra go but I just hope that they can bring someone in who has the industry connections with the airlines that Cardiff needs right now.
Could be a case as well for giving the job to Spencer Birns full time. He does know the airport well and should have the industry contacts.

It might be Spencer Birns. Debra Barber (as she then was) was interim MD at first before becoming MD, which later became CEO.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
