The airport would do better to try and attract the likes of Volotea. It has become quite a success across Europe.
I suspect that they are, they have worked with them during the Rugby World Cup so i'd expect that they're continuing to engage with them.

When does KLM partner with German Airways aircraft from Cardiff Airport?

Just flew from Cardiff on the Sat 5.15 pm timeslot to Amsterdam, and had Business class in a German Airways plane. It was stunning!

I'd like to book with German Airways again... but can only find Cardiff offering the Sat 5.15 pm timeslot.

Are there any other time slots where KLM use German Airways to/from Cardiff Airport?

German Airways are a ACMI airline so you can't book directly with them as they're operating on behalf of KLM. Can only book with KLM and see if they offer German Airways as the aircraft option.

KLM are using a German Ailrlines Embraer 190 on the Saturday evening flight only all summer, flight can only be booked through KLM

Saturday TImes are:- AMS-CWL KL1091 16:35-16:45, CWL-AMS KL1092 17:15-19:35

Does anyone know the reason for the four Air Europa flights arriving at CWL, during the early hours of Saturday 1/6/24.

Ref to my above post, a poster on Pprune has stated they are in relation to the Champions cup final at Wembley, although there are four flights shown arriving there appear to be only two departing. The passengers will have a long coach journey to Wembley, but trade for CWL.

It could be that the departing flights are widebody aircraft or that they have gotten slots for the departure elsewhere.

I wonder if Cardiff being open 24 hours has helped to secure these flights? I do feel sorry for the fans having to travel at such an early time in the morning. Long day for them.

Perhaps it’s known as London West airport for the weekend, or London Wales airport.

So apparently the Liberal Democrats have committed to devolve Air Passenger Duty to Wales amongst other things.
Funny enough i actually wrote an article about whether we could see Labour devolving it for Wales. I've posted it on the forum. It is written a bit for non avgeeks.

This is the wording in the manifesto.

Devolving Air Passenger Duty to put Wales on a fair playing field with Scotland and Northern Ireland and put Cardiff Airport on a fair playing field with regional airports in England

I've been looking at the other parties manifestoes when it came to Air Passenger Duty and Wales
Plaid Cymru don't mention devolving it nor is there any mention of aviation in their transport section but there is this in the climate change section we will increase Air Passenger Duty and kerosene tax for private jets.
Can't find anything about APD in the Conservative manifesto or in the Labour manifesto and nothing about devolving it to Wales from the Green Party.
So the only party that actively wants to devolve it and mentions Cardiff Airport is the Liberal Democrats.

I'd read that in the Plaid Cymru manifesto too. Seems they want to punish the airport and the broader Welsh economy in a single stealth attack!

The thing that confuses me is if they mean just private jets. I don't know if there is APD on private jet flights or not as in the UK government states its a levy on passenger aircraft flights over 19 seats. If they do want to increase APD it would be kind of go against some of their previous support for the airport. And i don't think Plaid want to harm the airport. They want a prosperous Wales and that includes the airport.

Interesting article.
Am I right in saying Caerdav already service Ryanair at St Athan?
Yes they do. Elsewhere someone has said a line maintenance presence doesn't necessarily mean based aircraft but just speculating here i wonder if it could help Ryanair with non based flights in emergencies and get rid of the need to bring in engineers if aircraft go tech.

Caerdav say they wish to expand at CWL, and having a permanent line team there, should certainly draw some interest from FR.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
