According to Cardiff Airport flights and deals on Facebook TUI will offer a one off Lapland flight to Kittila Finland on 11/12/26.
That’s quite far ahead for a one off trip on a 737. Fingers crossed we see a couple more added if the seats sell well. I think TUI release their winter 26/27 schedule on the 3rd of July.

Lapland trips are expensive and can be niche so a long lead up time is good tbh.

Crystal/TUI offer Finland from Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester. A weekly Cardiff flight could work.
Tbh I'm not sure it would. It is a niche destination. One off date's are probably better for airport like Cardiff.

TUI operate quite a few flights from Bristol to Kittila and Rovaniemi. Looks like 14 just this December.

Santas Lapland operate 4 flights in Dec 2025 and 3 flights in Dec 2026, with CWL only getting 1 in Dec 25 and 1 in Dec 2026 and Canterbury operate some departures using Jet2 but I don't think Jet2 do their own trips.
CWL and TUI are certainly forming a good relationship to compete with others at BRS.

TUI’s winter 26/27 flights are now out. Much the same as the previous winter, but some extra wins for Cardiff:
- Hurghada will be year round at 1 weekly for winter
- Cancun continues (2 departures in 2027)
- Single flight to La Romana in December 2026.
- Single flight to Kittila in December 2026
- 3 2027 Barbados departures.
- Malaga runs at 2 weekly from March 2027. A few months earlier than usual.

The only slightly surprising thing for me was that Faro will be summer seasonal for now.

Both Chambery & Salzburg return too.

Faro being seasonal is not suprising in the slightest for me. Not really a winter market for Faro plus TUI doesn’t offer it for winter at any of their bases

Is Fuerteventura operating through the winter season 26/27, will there be 2 based planes earlier than this winter, it is nice to see there will be 6 787 flights though.

TUI Winter 2026/27 will look like this, in total at peak period CWL should see up to 16 weekly departures from TUI
Beach
Tenerife 4 weekly Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday
Gran Canaria 2 weekly Monday and Thursday
Alicante 2 weekly Tuesday and Saturday
Lanzarote 2 weekly Thursday and Sunday
Malaga 1 weekly Sunday (increases to 2 weekly from 24/3/27 with a Wednesday flight)
Palma de Mallorca 1 weekly Tuesday from 23/3/27
Fuerteventura 1 weekly Saturday
Paphos 1 weekly Wednesday from 24/2/27
Hurghada 1 weekly Tuesday
Enfidha 1 weekly Friday from 5/3/27
Ski
Chambery 1 weekly Saturday (19/12/26-13/3/27)
Salzburg 1 weekly Saturdays (19/12/26-6/3/27)
Kittila 1 departure 11/2/26
Caribbean
Barbados 3 departures (3/1/27, 18/2/27 and 28/2/27)
Cancun 2 departures (15/3/27 and 12/4/27)
Dominican Republic 1 departure (8/12/26)

There will also be 4 departures from P&O cruises to Barbados and its likely the flights will be TUI
6/11/26, 21/11/26 (Hays Travel only i believe), 1/1/27 and 16/1/27
So CWL should see 10 long haul departures during the winter of 2026/27.

I’m seeing lots of holiday deals advertised from TUI shops in England on the Facebook Cardiff Flights and Deals page. Interesting that English TUI shops are pushing Cardiff flights and got me genuinely wondering how many people travel to CWL from across the bridge.

I saw one involving TUI Swindon.

Perhaps TUI are recommending their passengers to fly from CWL, because they might have been receiving complaints from their customers of overcrowding at BRS. More passengers are welcome at CWL, it doesn't matter where they come from.

It's amazing how many English TUI travel stores are advertising TUI holidays from CWL, I have counted 9 so far, ranging from Wolverhampton to Bracknell, all being shown on social media. Lets hope it brings in the passengers for CWL, in view of the TUI expansion at CWL, perhaps there is more to come from TUI.

Will be interesting to see how well those packages sell but even though it's up to TUI I'd imagine airports like Birmingham and Bristol could accuse CWL of pinching their passengers.

It's down to the Travel Agents what holidays they want to sell. Thomson/First Choice travel agents in South Wales had previously been instructed by head office to push Bristol Airport holidays. It's nothing to do with Airports themselves, as it's the Tour Operators business, unless of course the Airport is giving incentives, which is highly unlikely.

Is this new or has it been in sale for a while? Only one flight but it feels Cardiff must be getting close to a regular long haul TUI route?

It was announced a month or so ago.

Unfortunately I think we’re a long way off a based 787, but I can certainly see them offering more of the long haul if the current offering keeps selling well.

I’d like to see Melbourne (Orlando) added, but I’m not sure how popular the Florida theme park market is in South Wales and the West of England. TUI offer a couple of summer dates from BFS so that could be possible.

Apparently TUI are due to release Summer 2027 on 16th October.
Does anyone have any expectations of more expansion or do we think it'll be a carbon copy of Summer 26?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
